At an early age Dak Thorin found out his joy of building and repairing electronics. His father, Aldric Thorin, a well decorated Alliance and then New Republic veteran, fostered his son's talents, always taking him along on voyages, and marveling at his skills with the tool box. By the age of fourteen, Dak had progressed to a point where it was necessary to send him to an institution of higher education.
After six years of being trained at the famed Kuat Drive Engineering School, Dak returned home. His father had retired, but was no longer living on Corellia, so Dak took off after his father, making his way across the galaxy, doing free-lance repair work and taking odd jobs whenever they presented themselves. From fixing moisture evaporators to the finer mechanics of hyperdrive repair, Dak can fix just about anything that can be broken.
At the age of 21, only a year and a half ago, Dak came into possession of what would become his most valued possession, an old Alliance era B-Wing fighter. The rugged electronics and hearty engineering of the craft made during this desperate time in history, was immediately provocative to the youthful repairman. Having just salvaged the wreck from space, the freighter captain that Dak was working for decided that if anyone could make it operational, Dak Thorin would be that man.
Pouring over old blueprints and schematics the prodigy of jury-rigging has found his solution to all the problems that ailed him. Without a second thought he completely upgraded and repaired the B-Wing's damaged systems, even tuning the engines and installing two hybrid Calamari-Corellian shield redundancy systems into the old warhorse. His work now done, the young man gave back his last paycheck, which was all the freighter captain had given him, and sought the stars on his own.
A year later, and running out of hope of ever finding his father, a chance encounter would lead to the most devastating news the young man had ever heard, and the most promising purpose he would ever have. In a shady cantina in the underbelly of Coruscant, the young man found Pasha Solerus. His father's Captain, and favorite drinking partner, the young starfighter pilot learned from her over glasses of Corellian ale of his father's demise at the hands of the New Order.
His heart, broken but steeled by the cause of justice, hardened and set upon a course that would lead him to his father's killers, and reclaim the ship his father had so loved, the Sonata of War. Together, Dak, Pasha, and Mikal set out across the stars, on a mission of retrieval, and revenge.
