Born on Glee Anselm during the height of the Empire, Reika Fisto came into a world that hated him. Under the control of the Empire, the planet was being ruled with an iron fist. Alien hunters would come to hunt the Nautolans for sport. Fisto and his family were but a few that managed to elude these hunters, but they saw many friends killed in the murders.
With the fall of the Empire, Fisto, still young, was exposed to kindness from an outside species for the first time in his life. His young mind, however, only held vague memories of the cruelty of the hunters, and his parents determined to keep him from learning about the past. It was not to be, though, as Nautolans often spoke of the treachery of the Empire and the loved ones lost during the Emperor's rule.
Discovering his past made a great impression on the young Nautolan. He determined to strike back against those who had destroyed his friends and his home. So, when he was seventeen, he secured passage off-planet and joined the New Republic Military just in time to witness the emergence of Thrawn.
Finally, Reika has something to strike against. He turns all his fury on those in the employ of the Empire, killing indescriminately. He was assigned as a gunner on a Mon Calamari cruiser that took part in multiple battles against Thrawn and his forces, and he distinguished himself well. Eventually, he was selected for officer's school
Before his admission, he was granted a short leave, and he decided to visit the Wheel. As fate would have it, a high-ranking New Republic official was there as well, and a Noghri team had been sent to assassinate her. The team was all but wiped out in their attack. The one who managed to flee found himself caught by an Imperial officer near where Fisto was staying.
The Noghri begged for his life, but the Imperial had orders to eliminate all who failed. The Noghri, then resigned to his fate and obeying the orders of the successors of Vader, was willing to submit to death. It was at that moment that Fisto walked out of his room.
Reika Fisto didn't see an Imperial assassin in the Noghri. All he was was a fellow alien being persecuted just as his species had been. His blaster cleared its holster, and the shot put a neat, round hole in the Imperial's head. The Noghri turned quickly, but Reika re-holstered his blaster and stepped forward. Introductions were made and, to his surprise, the Noghri swore a life-debt there to Reika.
A bit skeptical of the Noghri's abilities, Reika allowed the creature to tag along with him. That night, though, someone started a brawl in one of the many bars on the Wheel. Reika unwillingly found himself in the middle of the fight. Amazingly, he was never struck; he seemed to sense the blows of the drunken buffons coming before they landed. What was more amazing was the way the Noghri fought. Reika, having never seen the abilities of a Noghri, was more than willing to take the alien, whose name was Maimakhan, along with him.
After a few more years in the military and eventual command of his own ship, Reika resigned his commission to enter private life. He spent six years failing in every business adventure on which he embarked. Then he figured out that the problem was that he was not equipped to run a business on his own.
So, with that in mind, he applied for a job with a new corporation - Stellar Enterprises. He was assigned to the defensive fleet, but his superiors soon learned of his special diplomatic skills as well. He was promoted and transferred. Rising quickly through the ranks, he was soon one of Stellar's head diplomats and commander of a small fleet of Stellar ships. He was on his way up.

Reika is Force sensitive, though he doesn't yet know it. He can sense danger sometimes, can sense duplicity, and can read people's emotions and sometimes sees their motives. He has no training yet.
One other note - Reika is no relation to any canon Star Wars character, past or present, despite the fact that his last name is the same as a canon Jedi. However, he does use the name as a diplomatic ploy at times.
