He is Dioan Silk.
Once Imperial Sovereign Protector, and Hand to the Dark Lord of the Sith, Dioan Silk would rise through the ranks to become one of the elite Imperial Royal Guard before coming to the service of one Lord Maim (a Sith who would fancy himself Dark Lord).
Maim - Sith Lord. Previous to him little could have been spoken regarding Dioan Silk without tribute to he who had come before, he who would play such a significant role in the development of the man known now as Lord Silk, Sith and hopeful Master of the Dark Side. Much more can be said of the man who would emerge from the shadow of Maim in time to follow...

Early TRF
Dioan Silk would first appear as a part of The Rebel Faction Universe shortly after the schism that saw the community break from The Gungan Council. During this time of unrest and Galactic Expansion, he would emerge as an ex-member of the elite Imperial services, the Imperial Royal Guard loyal only to a dead Emperor. Lost and without purpose, it was then an easy bid for the Dark Lord Maim to bring Dioan Silk and his band of Royal Guardsmen in to his fold during the period of internal strife which would see the unfolding events of the Crimson Empire, and the war waged between two of its most elite members Canor Jax and Kir Kanos.
In short order the Dark Lord Maim reorganized the Royal Guard as his own private armed fighting force. Sensing the promise of Dioan Silk he would embark upon a rigorous training regimen through which he would culture in him a unique perspective on the Force, teach him to tap the Dark Side to make of himself a living weapon. In this fashion the Dark Lord Maim dubbed him the Hand of the Dark Lord and promoted him to Sovereign Protector over the domain of that Dark Lord. The events that would see these honors bestowed upon him could be felt on and around those systems and worlds he was tasked with conquering in the name of Maim and the Crimson Empire. A master of strategy and skilled tactician, he would learn to develop his skills as a commander of men and assets.
For a time, all was good...
The only constant in life is change. Soon the Dark Lord Maim would become an increasingly reclusive figure until ultimately he would abandon Dioan Silk and his band of bastardized Royal Guardsmen. And in that long silence, without the voice of his master to guide him, Silk too would vanish, fade in to the background.
And for a time he would be nothing...
The Glory Days
In the days described by many of the veteran members as "the Glory Days" of The Rebel Faction (though when exactly this describes seems to fluctuate dependent on those veteran members) Dark Lord Maim would return to public life and with him Dioan Silk would reappear. In a short-lived bid to reclaim the territory of the Crimson Empire and the various permutations of (under Maim) he would again embark upon a campaign of conquest.
Lasting only as long as sustained by its own energies, this effort would soon fail and with its failure the Dark Lord Maim would once again disappear. Abandoned again, and for the last time, Dioan Silk would find himself exiled to the now decimated planet Yinchorr alongside the men of his Royal Guard.
