History
Vance Taesch was born on Chandrila where he attended University. Due to government policy, which required that families stay small, Vance Taesch had no siblings to speak of. Citizens of Chandrila were all granted a direct voice in government, and Vance Taesch took advantage of that freedom. From a very young age Vance studied not only local politics, but those of the Galaxy at large.
Vance Taesch was born amidst Galactic turmoil, but by the time he had come of age the Empire had been dissolved. Vance was free to pursue his affinity to politics, and did so with vigor. Being just a boy during the time when the Empire spanned the Galaxy, Vance developed a natural disdain for the opression of the Galactic Empire. The Chandrilan were by their very nature democratic, and Vance Taesch was no different. As a small boy he would study Galactic politics and practice public speaking techniques which he refined and perfected throughout the years.
At the age of 27 Vance Taesch married his long-time girlfriend Cylla Journet, and moved to Coruscant to pursue a career as a business executive. At first, Vance prospered as the New Republic emerged as the dominant Government in the Galaxy. However, it was not long before the New Republic fell and the New Order emerged - the Empire incarnate.
For years, Vance continued to operate within the private sector as the New Order emerged. All the while Vance Taesch kept a finger on the pulse of the Galactic climate. Once he saw that it was inevitable that the Empire would return to Coruscant, Vance fled what would be soon known as Imperial Center with his wife, Cylla.
Once Vance recognized that Coruscant was doomed to fall to the newly reformed Empire, he and his wife fled to Abridon, where he took a run-of-the-mill job as an executive for a small company. It was here that Vance and his wife Cylla fulfilled their life long dream giving birth to their three children; Michael, Alek, and Emillia. Their family was considered large by Chandrilan standards, but was allowed on Abridon where there were no such restrictions on family size. Vance continued to keep an eye on the Galactic situation from afar, it was at this time that he saw the fledgling Rebellion lead by Marin Faulker.
For years, Vance Taesch watched the Rebellion lead by Marin Faulker from afar. Once Vance realized that the Empire was quickly becoming the Empire of old, he offered to lend his support to the fledgling Rebellion. Marin Faulker was reluctant to accept the support of the unknown Taesch, but quickly realized that Vance Taesch himself embodied many of the same attributes Marin Faulker held himself, namely resolve and tenacity.
After a few years of service to the Rebellion, Marin Faulker offered Vance Taesch the position of Chief of State, which was the political figurehead of the Rebellion. Quick to embrace his position, Taesch informed Marin that the goals of the Rebellion were short-sighted. Many times the two debated the state of the Rebellion, but once the Rebellion lost steam - Faulker realized that Vance Taesch was correct in his analysis. Vance Taesch quickly persuaded Marin to shift the focus of the Rebellion to a group who's purpose was to restore the Republic of old, and the Rebellion adopted the title of "The Alliance to Restore the Republic". Currently, Vance Taesch is working with several planetary governments attempting to persuade them to join the Alliance's cause.
