Her world and House were just beginning to secretly recover from by the devastation caused by House Mercetti and the Galactic Empire. Under the seas, House Pelagia began to prosper in the ancient ruins, regaining her economic and military might. But on the surface, life was still dismal for her constituents. Many businesses had left after the orbital bombardment, and the outward economy had plummeted. Kitty’s family, the Mercedes, lost everything during the attack. Her father, swearing revenge on the House Mercetti and the Galactic Empire, immediately rejoined House Pegalia’s military as an officer where he secretly began to train the naval crews of the Pelagon. He was stationed on an Assault Frigate deep in space. Thus, Eva rarely saw the man. Her mother worked fulltime as a nurse, taking care of those injured by the House Mercetti and Imperial attack. Thus, Eva grew up mostly by herself, leading to a strong independent streak in her personality. One that often strained the bonds between child and parents Eventually, the relationship became overstrained, and she left home in her middle teens on a light freighter, finding random jobs across the sector to make living. This is when she changed her name to Kitty Hawk, to disassociate herself from House Pelagia and her family. Sometimes, she worked as a waitress or a clerk. Eventually, she managed to earn enough money to go in with a close friend, Alexandria, that the two purchased the Starlight Wanderer: a used, almost decrepit light freighter. She learned to pilot and maintain the craft while Alexandria managed the cargo and trading aspects of their work. One day, on a run to Obulette, the two blundered into a fight between Imperial vessels chasing after a group of smugglers. The Imperial ships did not differentiate between Starlight Wanderer and the criminals. They fired on the freighter, incinerating most of the cargo hold and killing Alexandria in the process. Swearing revenge at the age of nineteen, she began a one-woman war on the Empire. Most of her efforts failed before they even started; foiled by a lack of intelligence with which to plan anything on. She sold the Starlight Wanderer and continued her spree of working random jobs. However, in her freetime, Kitty practiced gymnastics and basic martial arts, hoping to stumble upon, and sieze, an opportunity to avenge her lost friend. Finally, one day after work, that moment happened. A pair of Imperial Army Troopers were sweeping an alleyway in which they thought a fugitive was hiding. She stealthy dispatched both of them, rescuing the fugitive: a member of a local spynetwork. Thus, she began her career with that network, learning more about infiltration and silent fighting techniques. Eventually, the network was absorbed by CSIS, making Kitty an official agent. She was transferred to the Camp Shipwright, the CSIS training facility on Kashan. There, she met Adrian Ravenna and participated in several training exercises with him. Ravenna chose Hawk to accompany him on his missions because of her piloting skills. Thus, she became a part of Nightfall team, piloting the Rogue Shadow and serving as the team’s infiltration expert. [iv.] -- Skills Background skills:
From her brief stint as a light freighter captain in the Tapani Sector, Hawk is a moderately experienced freighter pilot. She often pilots the Rogue Shadow, ferrying Nightfall Team to their destination and providing fire support during engagements. However, Kitty’s primary skills lie in infiltration, developed extensively in her childhood and honed and perfected with Confederation training. Like other Nightfall personnel, she has completed standard training for CSIS infiltrators, which includes blending into a chosen environment and combat training, in which she focused on knifework and K’tara, a martial art focusing on stealth attacks.
[v.] -- Equipment / Possessions: Equipment varies from mission to mission, but Kitty generally has an encrypted comlink, datapad, and monies as suited to the locale. Also based on the locale is outer civilian clothing, which is worn over a Tuff1 Combat Suit. Like most Confederate agents, she usually carries a Redemptor hold-out blaster at all times. On the field, she also carries a Talon Vibrodagger as a utility tool and a potent close-quarters combat weapon. Tuffl Combat Suit: The Tuff1 combat suit is a light protection suit designed to be worn under loose civilian clothing. It consists of a tight body suit with padded armor sections at the chest, elbows, and knees. The material dries quickly and breathes well, making it easy to wear for long periods of time. The suit can be equipped with rings and straps for attaching equipment securely in easy-to-reach places. If worn by itself, the combat suit provides only minimal protection. It is often combined with other armor, most often a blast helmet and vest. In such use it serves as a backup; it doesnt provide any additional protection, but is there in case the outer armor becomes damaged and has to be discarded. Name/Type: Redemptor-class Holdout Blaster Designer/Manufacturer: Sorosuub / Contegorian Confederation Designation: Specialized Hold-out Blaster Size: 11.3 cm Mass: ~1 kg Effective Range: 20 m Fire Modes: Single, Stun, Burn Fire Rate: 1 Damage Rating: 50 Magazine: 6 Charges Ammunition: Blaster Powercell Special: The Redeptor is almost silent in operation. The SoroSuub Redemptor Hold-out Pistol is a small, but powerful pistol designed with stealth in mind. Despite its power output, the Redemptor is virtually silent when it is fired. With a length of 11.3 cm, the Redemptor is easy to conceal under jackets or in large pockets. The energy cell, providing enough energy for 6 shots, is housed inside the handle and accessed through a small panel on the handle's left side. The Redemptor has been very popular with independent assassins and has seen sales rise in the Outer Rim Territories and Imperial-controlled space. (The Confederation produces a direct copy at the old SoroSuub plant located on Genarius from which CSIS agents are equipped from). Name/Type: Talon Vibrodagger Designer/Manufacturer: LaserHone Designation: Personal Combat Vibroblade Size: 18.3 cm Mass: ~1 kg Effective Range: 0.5 m Damage Rating: 60 Ammunition: Powercell Special: The Talon is silent in operation. Description: The Talon Vibrodagger is a lethal weapon that produces no sound in the human audible range when activated, although properly adjusted audio sensors can pick up this weapon's slight ultrasonic whine. Nevertheless, it remains popular among Imperial Storm Commandos, Rebel Infiltrators, pirates and other individuals that require to work silently or inexpensively. The Talon was on the market at least four months after the Battle of Yavin. An efficient weapon in properly skilled hands, the Talon possesses virtually no aesthetic appeal as they are purely functional in nature. It is considered to be among the best weapons available for thieves and small-time killers. Furthermore, it is also considered very handy and effective as a shipjacking tool and for cutting open magnaseals on cargo crates.
