While the planet’s buildings continually reached to the skies, Bob spent most of his time in the lower levels of the planet, either in his family’s subterranean home or in one of the public libraries. With little atheletic facilities, and few reasons to become fit, Bob spent most of his time studying on one of the most abundant items on Metalorn: Computers. Most of his initial work was simple, such as making and coding educational pages on Metalorn’s intranet. It then evolved into the use of basic computer languages to make programs used for basic calculations. Throughout high school, Swenson continued to work on computer programs in his freetime, eventually writing very proficient programs rather quickly. Upon graduation, he joined the Metalorn National Defence Force as a computer technician. There, he rewrote several security programs for minor installations on planet. His name familiar to the government through his bureaucrat father, a Parliament investigation committee assigned the blonde man to attempt to hack through government securities in order to test the safeness of their information. Over the course of several months, Swenson and several other governmental slicers managed to break into civilian government mainframes and withdraw sensitive information. They did, however, fail to break into any of the Defence Forces computers because of the heavy encryption and few access points. Their consequent report to the Parliament resulted in a major security software overhaul of existing civilian government computers. An act that coincided with Metalorn’s induction into the Confederation. While most of the Metalorn National Defence Force remained autonomous, the Contegorian Confederation did absorb several elements into its mainstream forces: including the intelligence agency which Swenson worked for, which became a local branch of CSIS. Several months after Metalorn’s induction and the subsequent Imperial attack, Swenson was transferred to Shipwright Academy on Kashan to receive standard CSIS training and additional computer training. This is where he met Adrian Ravenna. He passed through the rigorous trials, learning new skills and improving existing ones. At the end of his stay, he was hand-picked by Ravenna to become a part of Nightfall Team, to serve as the slicing expert. He has since expanded to handle, maintain, and build most of the technology for the elite intelligence team. [iv.] -- Skills Besides basic CSIS training, Robert went through the department’s Slicer school to complement his already formidable computer skills. He is quite proficient in entering traditional Imperial, New Republic, and civilian networks to acquire information or insert programs. As one of his training projects, he created an alternate false identity, tweaking the local databases of a neutral world. This new identity is complete with life history, goals, and employment record. All of which appear to be legal. Thus, he can take on the Identity of Ben Tackett, businessman of Export Unlimited. A CSIS agent is required to be proficient in the lower levels of martial arts. Thus, he trained in Broken Gate, a hard art specializing in dealing powerful blows and absorbing enemy attacks. Equipment / Possessions: Equipment varies from mission to mission, but Bob generally has an encrypted comlink, datapad, and monies as suited to the locale. Also based on the locale is outer civilian clothing, which is worn over a Tuff1 Combat Suit. Unlike most Confederate agents, he eschewed the characteristic Redemptor in favour of a silenced CCA-5 Blaster Carbine. Tuffl Combat Suit: The Tuff1 combat suit is a light protection suit designed to be worn under loose civilian clothing. It consists of a tight body suit with padded armor sections at the chest, elbows, and knees. The material dries quickly and breathes well, making it easy to wear for long periods of time. The suit can be equipped with rings and straps for attaching equipment securely in easy-to-reach places. If worn by itself, the combat suit provides only minimal protection. It is often combined with other armor, most often a blast helmet and vest. In such use it serves as a backup; it doesnt provide any additional protection, but is there in case the outer armor becomes damaged and has to be discarded. Name/Type: Modified CCA-5 Repeating Carbine Designer/Manufacturer: Confederation Consolidated Arms Ltd Designation: Carbine Size: 34 cm (stock retracted), 54 cm (stock extended) Mass: 2 kg Effective Range: 150 m Fire Modes: Single, Multifire, Autofire, Stun, Burn Fire Rate: 5 Damage Rating: 30 (Stun: 10) Magazine: 100 Charges Ammunition: Blaster Powercell Modification: Silenced The CCA-5 Repeating Carbine was designed as a compact weapon for armor crews, fighter pilots, and others who needed a small, close-quarters weapon. It is quite effective in its role, sending a flurry of blaster bolts five times faster than traditional carbines. However, its bolt is a little underpowered by most standards (60% damage of normal) and as well, suffers from being short-ranged, even for carbine. After their introduction into the mainstream Confederation Forces, the CCA-5 ended up mostly in the hands of Confederation Marines, CSIS, and Special Forces. There is a common modification in the latter two organization that utilizes parts from the SoroSuub Redemptor to make it a silenced weapon; preferable for those who participate in clandestine or sensitive activities. The CCA-5 differs from most blasters in that it has ambidextrous controls, allowing it to be easily used by a person of either handness, or dual-wielded.
