Merendez doesn't have much in terms of scars, but what she does have denotes a rough past. She has several deep scars on her face and back, showcasing that she was tortured awhile back.
Additional Information:
Merendez was originally apart of a trading business, and thus knows the in's and outs of trading in the universe. Her past is littered with numerous failures and successes though each one she learned from.
She let the trading business for a simple life on Corellia, but left the planet shortly afterwards in short of something else - that's when she ran into the rogue Fikan, she joined up with him initially to handle the financial networks of operating an organization and he had offered her quite a salary for her work. She later became an Admiral and was put in charge of the Trading Department of the organization.
