I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this here, but... well, I'm gonna try, and see what happens. I'm going to start with Hanoori information in this post. Del Fann information will come in the second post, and once all that is approved, I will make my character.

The Hanoori Species:

The Hanoori species functions in a strange manner that is somehow suspended between that of a fungus or a plant. They require about 4 hours of sunlight of equal intensity to that of their home planet Del Fann to maintain basic function, as well as around a gallon of water and various nutrients. There are two genders: Spore producer and spore receiver, however there seems to be no difference between the two genders, and a Hanoori carrying a pod may not even notice that it has one until the few hundred podlings come to full gestation. Insemination is handled through the air, and most spore producers are also unaware that they are leaking spores.

When podlings emerge, they are roughly the size of a pinhead, and usually lay forgotten on the ground. The average pod size is 250 seeds, and around 6 will survive the first 7 years. However, once they make it past that point, it is almost guaranteed that they can survive for hundreds of years, at least. Once they have gained critical mass of about 300 pounds, it is easy for the Hanoori to begin shaping themselves. Once a shape is set, the Hanoori will be unable to change it until their next shedding. These sheddings occur every 250 years, more or less.

Technically, given proper sunlight and nutrients, a Hanoori could grow to the size of a massive California Redwood and live on into infinity. However, as one gets larger, mobility goes down, especially since Hanoori are much heavier and more dense than their animal counterparts. Not to mention, as time goes on, an accident becomes more and more statistically likely. Thus, the average lifespan of a Hanoori is roughly 1,500 years. The current longest living Hanoori is Bshi'renvlas the Massive, who emulates a 5,200 metric ton rock on the Hanoori planet of Del Fann. He is around 10,000 years old by best estimate, but he has stopped speaking to people in the past millenia, so people aren't really sure. The last thing he said was that he was going to spend a thousand years in silence and that he wanted all the "damn saplings to get the hell out of his outcropping". However, he still has solid life signs.

When amongst themselves, Hanoori speak through the use of harmonies and melodic coloring in a language that has only been mastered by 3 non-Hanoori to date. Hanoori have a very wide range of sounds that they hear, extending far in both directions of wavelength from that which humans do. In fact, Hanoori hardly distinguish sight from sound due to this phenomena. This is in part due to the fact that the Hanoori physiology is based on internal harmony and motion, rather than organs. Their cells are strangely uniform, although they often will attempt to emulate other species. However, when viewed under a microscope, there is very little difference in all of these cells, with the exception of what color the cell wall is.

Given the proper amount of sunlight and nutrients, a Hanoori can regenerate any sort of feigned limb that they originally crafted. (However, they cannot change their structure until the bark shedding.) The greatest feat of regeneration was done by a Hanoori who was exploded in a war as a member of the Republic when he had moved to Corellia. All that was left of him was a calf and a foot, but a friend was aware of the nature of his species, and set up a special nutrient tank with mirrors reflecting sunlight in from every angle. He fully recovered and returned to duty within a month's time. However, in most instances, a Hanoori must have at least 50% of their body in order to regenerate. Not to mention, the regeneration process is terribly painful, and many Hanoori simply give up and allow themselves to die.

Force Sensitivity in Hanoori:

Due to their strange perceptions of the galaxy, Hanoori manifest as force users in a much different manner. The Hanoori call the Force "the Great Symphony," and all force users are referred to as "Conductors." To a certain extent, all Hanoori hear the melody of the force (which may contribute to their long lives), but those who can actually manipulate the melodies are at least 10 times more rare in Hanoori than they are in humans.

Hanoori are far more gifted at manipulating light and sound than they are at moving physical objects or augmenting their own abilities. Many Hanoori will find that they are Conductors because they shatter vases or other objects that easily reverberate sound. Hanoori also have an affinity for healing other plants, but there are virtually no Hanoori who can heal an animal entity. However, most Hanoori can overcome the difficulty with moving objects or augmenting themselves with proper training. (Please note that Hanoori do not alter the mind to cause sounds or change light waves, they actually alter the waves and particles involved.)

Species that operate using organs often find it extremely hard to understand the mind of a Hanoori. Usually, all that happens when they try to tap into it using the Force is that they hear music, and the Hanoori gets a strange itching sensation.

Hanoori Society:

Hanoori are not considered adults until they reach the age of 35. Very few leave Del Fann, and those that do often come back within a hundred years. In general, they are a very patient species, and are uninterested in trading with other species. They generally believe they have everything they need and prefer a more solitary living. They almost never make life-long companions, and have no attachment to their young. Besides Bshi'renvlas the Massive, if any sort of Leadership is required, the Hanoori look to the eldest of those who live... Unless there is a Conductor about who is well trained. In that case, usually the Conductor's opinion will take precedence.

Those who are interested in progression, politics or science often are left to do what they will. They are neither encouraged or discouraged. Since there is no real monetary incentive in Hanoori society, most will seek out any topic that most interests them. Due to this, there are a great number of incredibly fabulous musicians that come from Del Fann's occupants.

All right. I think I got down enough info for you guys to be able to figure out if you like the idea of the species. As you can probably tell, I have more information stored up in my head than what I put down here, but I got a little sick of writing random facts in a textbook like manner. I've been working on this species for a year, so I have plenty on them. I'll post more on Del Fann tomorrow, and hopefully finally post my bio and start playing.

Del Fann

Del Fann is located near the Corellian Run, between the Tynna system and Iktotch. The planet is 50% covered by water, but there it is all fresh. The major land masses are Hila, Gerla and Thylila. (The ending "la" syllable refers to solid land/earth.) All three could be generally classified as "grassland," but each mass has its own quirks. The atmosphere is livable for most humanoid species, containing a large amount of both carbon dioxide, oxygen and nitrogen.

Thylila is known for torrential rain storms. The Hanoori who live there are often unburdened by dealing with the various non-sentient species, however. Gerla is mountainous and hilly in many regions, and many of Del Fann's beautiful winged species find their roost there. Hila is mostly unremarkable, with the exception of a strange desert region in the center. This area is mostly un-explored, and strange tales of visions and monsters come from that region. (What's a desert without weird visions?) All three land masses are known to be inhabited, as well as the various islands that are found in various places on the planet.

The major spaceport is on Hila, though various stations for landing are available on all three land masses.

I'm actually intrigued. That's rare.

Background (Super Condensed Version): While most seeds remain stationary in their pod, Slrann'leivu was popping around from after 3 days of gestation. By the time the group of baby hanoori fell off, she was practically a miniature Mexican Jumping Bean. While her carrier was more than happy to be rid fo her, her odd behavior was noted by the only Conductor in the Thylila-Sector 7 complex. The sprout was taken in and nurtured in a small patch, a rather strange occurrence in Hanoori culture. The added nutrients and care caused her to grow rather rapidly, reaching the mass of sentience two years early. (Age 5)

Once she reached that critical mass, her drive to move places increased exponentially. Curiosity spurred the Symphony Conductor who had taken her in (Grill'ev-ein) to follow the strange young one on a trip that lead virtually all over the planet. After a decade of this duo's exploration, Grill'ev-ein noticed that his young companion caused windows to shatter while in a major spaceport area. He realized that this was because his young friend was gifted with the ability to manipulate the Great Symphony. This surprised the well-informed Conductor, since he had never heard her presence in the Force beforehand. Thus, at 15 years of age, the two finally decided on her name: Slrann'leivu, which translates to "The Sound of Silence" in Hanoori.

After this discovery, however, he took the young sapling back to Sector 7 of Thylila and began instructing her in the ways of the Hanoori Force arts. However, her wanderlust began to drive her stir crazy over the years. After 20 years, she reached the age of 35, and was thus allowed to leave the planet. She chose to leave the planet, where her master did not follow. He simply requested that she return.

The first trip off of Del Fann that she could find brought her to Corellia. She was surrounded by humans and looking to carve her form, and thus ended up emulating a human over the few years she had for carving herself into a look-alike. She quickly learned that outside of Del Fann, she needed to be able to earn money. It was a concept that she wasn't used to, and it took some time for her to fully comprehend it. However, she eventually learned that most species did not have her ability with music, and she could make a fair amount of money by creating sounds that melded with their brain harmonies.

Eventually, she made enough so that she could travel. After that, she made enough to put herself through the Corellian Academy for Engineering and Ship Design, and travelled to Mon Calamari to learn more. At 120 years of age, she had finally established a small company on Corellia for making customized ships at a premium price. However, she very rarely actually managed the company from Corellia. Her powerful need to wander kept her moving all around the galaxy, including multiple trips back to Del Fann to visit her mentor.

There is no approval process.

If the idea is fundamentally flawed, the community will tell you (often with insults and rude comments). If the idea is fundamentally sound, the community will tell you (sometimes with insults and rude comments).

Oh! Something I forgot to mention: Hanoori spores are hallucinogenic to most humanoid species.

Oooh deceptive cadence. Doesn't it get old if you hear it every time someone says your name though. ^^

Also, minor six in minor, how odd ;)

Emaj:--N-V/V-V6/4---I6

Now this one's just negligent! Flat 2 in the neapolitan can't resolve if it goes to a secondary dominant of V, and the cadential 6/4 never has a 5/3. :p

Heh. It also has a lot of parallel fifths! That's actually part of the point. Grill'ev-ein is the kind of guy who can't be bothered with rules if it sounds cool.

And Slrann'leivu is an odd duck.

I'm glad you're paying attention, though! ^_^

Why was the approved in all caps? I thought I didn't need to be approved. I'm confused. Are you just saying you want to get high on hanoori spores? Or are you saying I don't need to put any more information down? I just want people in the game to know as much as possible.

Settle down. GD. Bad enough we have a woman here, but she has brought halucinagens with her. This could get out of hand fast.
