Full Name: Leia Organa Solo Status: Jedi Master Age: Somewhere around 40? Depends on TRF’s timeline... Classic SW character Leia’s history follows the canon Star Wars timeline up until a few days after the battle of Endor. Since everyone is familiar with the movies and Leia’s background up until that point as presented by George Lucas and Lucasfilm Ltd., I will refrain from repeating it in the space below. As a disclaimer, Star Wars and the character Princess Leia are copyrighted property of George Lucas and Lucasfilm Ltd. I write using this character unofficially, and would never use said property for any personal gains or profits, other than as a platform for my harmless role-playing hobby on this Star Wars themed message board. Part 1: Leia Organa… Solo? In the few days following the defeat of the Emporer at the battle of Endor, Princess Leia Organa and Alliance General Han Solo found that they had a bit of free time to spend together on the lush forest planet while the Rebel Alliance assessed the post-battle situation. Over the course of time each had discovered that they had deep feelings for the other, and three days after the battle of Endor Leia accepted Han Solo’s hand in marriage. The newlywed couple would have only a few free days on Endor to serve as a honeymoon however, as the Rebel Alliance soon set its’ sights on assembling a post-war galactic government. Han, Luke, and Leia often traveled together on diplomatic missions for the Rebel Alliance, visiting various planets and using their galaxy wide reputation (and Leia’s diplomatic skills) in an effort to recruit worlds into what would eventually be known as The New Republic. The job was actually far more difficult than it sounded… Han, Luke, and Leia all still had considerable Imperial bounties on their heads, and their journeys often lead them deep into the outer rims of the meager but growing Alliance territory, where the Empire was still an active and powerful threat to be reckoned with. As time passed the Alliance continued to grow and flourish. Han, Leia, and Luke continued to travel from planet to planet; often getting into skirmishes (sometimes even large scale battles), with the Remnants of an Empire hungry for revenge and redemption. It was during this time that Leia finally gave into Luke’s repeated requests to teach her the ways of the Force, and soon under her brother’s patient tutelage she was well on her way to becoming a Jedi Knight… Mostly due to the fact that Leia spent most of her time either negotiating with nervous, war weary planets or clashing with the Imperials, Leia quickly put her developing Force skills to use and her power began to grow with each passing day… Not long after Luke had warmly informed Leia that he was pretty sure she had matured into a Jedi Knight and no longer needed the tutoring sessions she’d been having with him, a confident Alliance approached Han and Leia with a very daunting mission: the developing Alliance had set its’ sights on Coruscant. Alliance Intelligence reports had indicated that the Imperial presence on Coruscant was greatly diminished, and with Han and Leia’s past success in recruiting former Imperial worlds into the new government, Alliance command had deemed the couple the best two people suited for the job. Even though Han had misgivings about their new mission (which were loudly echoed by their constant companion and friend, Chewbacca), Leia’s selfless dedication to what the Alliance was working towards eventually won them both over, and soon they were en route to Coruscant. Little did Leia know, the chain of events that transpired on Coruscant would ultimately change her life forever… Part 2: Leia Organa Solo… Jedi Master? When Han, Leia, and Chewie arrived at Coruscant, they quickly discovered that the Alliance Intelligence reports had been… incomplete, to say the least. While the Imperial military presence on Coruscant was virtually nonexistent, the planet’s inhabitants were just as loyal to the Empire as they had been before the death of the Emporer. They had known nothing else, having been thoroughly brainwashed by Imperial propaganda over the years. After receiving a rather cold reception that involved pointed blasters, Han, Leia, and Chewie were forced to evade being captured by the Coruscant security force. Also forced to cut all contact with the Alliance to keep from being tracked down, Leia, Han, and Chewie fled to the lower levels of Coruscant, where Imperial influence did not reach. They were stranded... ***Sometime during this period, for reasons that Leia to this very day has been unwilling to reveal to anyone for any reason, she and Han parted ways, to travel their own separate paths.*** Settling in for an extended visit, Leia discovered a whole different culture beneath Coruscant’s upper levels. While some portions of the lower levels could be quite dangerous, others were the equivalent of small, close knit towns that just happened to be located under the city. In these close knit communities, humans and aliens of all species lived and worked together to support each other and keep their community vibrant. Most of them had no love or use for the Empire, and as such Leia soon found a safe haven in one of them. Though she would only spend a few months in the lower levels of Coruscant, by some odd turn of fate Leia met two young, Force adept girls whom she agreed to take on as Jedi Padawans. And so for a while, Leia taught the two young girls the ways of the Force, while she did what she could to contribute to the community that was so kindly looking after her. But another odd twist of fate was about to find her… One day Leia had been sitting in a tapcafe, waiting to meet a contact on behalf of her community (once the community leader had realized her skill as a diplomat, he had been quick to put her skill to good use) to broker a deal for vital supplies from above. She had just finished her business and was paying for her drinks, when she encountered a young Gungan who introduced himself as Jedi Binks. Intrigued by the Gungan’s use of the title ‘Jedi’, Leia soon learned that Binks, a Force adept Gungan, hailed from the great underwater Gungan capital city of Otah Gunga, on the peaceful planet of Naboo. Part 3: The Jedi Order is founded/The New Republic rises to power Binks offered Leia and her two Padawans safe passage to Naboo, and a home in Otah Gungah when they arrived. Eager to leave the life of fear and secrecy that she was living on Coruscant behind, Leia quickly accepted the Gungan’s offer. Binks helped Leia and her two Padawans escape Coruscant undetected, and soon Leia found herself en route to Naboo… When they finally arrived in Otah Gunga after a long journey, Leia found a surprising warm reception waiting for her, as if the Gungans had anticipated her arrival and celebrated it. She was immediately taken to meet the leader of the Gungans, a large (if not fat) Gungan named General Ceel. Ceel gave Leia and her two Padawans a warm welcome, and fully aware of Leia’s power as a Jedi Knight and her past accomplishments, he offered her a seat on the Gungan High Council. Leia accepted his generous offer with apprehension at first, but as she adjusted to life with the Gungans she began to feel more at ease with her new home. Even as she fulfilled her new duties as a High Council member, Leia continued to train her two Padawans in the ways of the Force. When Leia finally approached Ceel with the idea of founding a Jedi Order, the Gungan leader generously gave her the resources she needed to found The Jedi Order in Otah Gunga. The Order’s first members were Leia, whose ascension to the rank of Jedi Master was actually marked by the founding of the Order, Jedi Binks, Leia’s two Padawans from Coruscant, Danster, and Clegg Holdfast. Still adjusting to her new responsibilities as a Jedi Master and the steward of an entire Jedi Order, Leia was visiting a small place she frequented in Otah Gunga called Shmi’s Diner one day, when she met a rather shy young woman who introduced herself as Amnde. Amnde explained to Leia that her ship had crash landed in the swamps not far from the above water docks of the city, and since her ship had been destroyed in the crash, she was stranded in the city indefinitely… lost and alone. Leia felt compelled to take Amnde under her wing and give her a home for as long as she needed, and so she offered Amnde a space in one of the empty quarters in the Jedi Order’s section of Otah Gunga. Amnde accepted, and ironically Leia soon discovered that Amnde was Force sensitive. Leia took Amnde on as a Padawan learner, and as Amnde’s training progressed the two formed a very close Master/student bond. As Amnde achieved the status of Jedi Knight it was revealed that her real name was Amalia, and Leia and Amalia worked and traveled closely together, as close friends and colleagues. The two eventually grew so close that they formed a unique bond in the Force as well: they were able to sense each other’s thoughts and feelings, something which was quite extraordinary given how strong Leia’s mental barriers were. Very, very few people were capable of successfully reaching into Leia’s mind and accurately reading her thoughts and feelings; Leia naturally kept her own problems to herself even as she helped others deal with theirs. Amalia was one of those people, which was a testament to just how close the two were. When the Naboo Sith Order made it’s presence known, Leia and the rest of the Jedi soon found their hands full with the task of defending Otah Gunga from Sith harassment. During this time Leia engaged many Sith in lightsaber duels deep in the swamps of Naboo, but none of her encounters would be as noteworthy as one… a simple face off with a Sith by the name of Sith Ahnk. A pyrokinesis-gone-bad stunt had set the Sith’s clothes on fire, and he’d been forced to… deal with the situation. If ever Leia would remember one duel in particular, it was that one: she watched Sith Ahnk run butt naked through the swamps of Naboo, a stream of curse words and threats being thrown back at her even as he fled the scene. Obviously his dignity had remained intact… As time passed the Sith continued to prove themselves to be a growing threat. This eventually culminated in an organized Sith attack on Theed. As the Jedi raced from Otah Gunga to save the city in time, a second group of Sith infiltrated Otah Gunga and sabotaged the underwater city. Despite the fact that the Jedi eventually successfully chased the Sith out of both cities, Leia realized that the Jedi could not effectively fulfill their duties from such a secluded base in Otah Gunga. She arranged an agreement with Theed to have a Jedi Academy constructed in the midst of Theed, where the Jedi would have a more visible and effective presence. When construction of the Jedi Academy was completed, The Jedi Order officially moved it’s base to the new Academy in Theed, where it still stands proudly today. Also during this general time period The New Republic, headed by Hexadragon and Gash Jiren, rose to power. Up until the Sith attacks on Naboo, Leia had managed to keep a relatively low profile in Otah Gunga. But with the Academy’s move and a victory over the Sith, news her return to the battlegrounds began to spread. When the New Republic caught wind of the news, it contacted Leia and offered her a position as Chief of State. Though worried that she was biting off more than she could chew, Leia accepted the prestigious position and soon found herself buried in work; traveling from Corellia, the capital planet of the Republic, to Naboo, to try and fulfill her leadership duties to both the Republic and the Jedi. As Leia’s heavy workload began to take a toll on her, her friendship with Amalia also became strained. Though Amalia tried to support Leia as best she could, Leia stubbornly and inexplicably pushed her away, afraid that Amalia would learn a dark secret that Leia had been keeping for some time… Part 4: Oh how the Mighty fall… For some time Leia’s sleep had been troubled with dark and disturbing dreams. Dreams of her standing beside Darth Vader, looking out at the universe as if they owned it. Recurring dreams where she fell into a cold, ever hungry black hole that devoured all positive energy around it, never to escape again… The dreams were signs, warnings that Leia did not take the time to heed. The Republic was struggling futilely against a new and powerful Imperial sect called The New Order, which gained power with each passing day. Also each day brought yet another report from the Jedi telling of more trouble that the Sith were causing. Leia had been selflessly pouring herself into her work, and now the foundations that she had invested so much time and energy in were being gravely threatened. This only caused Leia to throw herself into her work with even more resolve, the thought that she needed to stop and take some time off to sort out her own troubles never occurring to her. Deep in the back of Leia’s mind, fear, frustration, and anger were brewing… Instead of dealing with the feelings, she was merely pushing them to the back of her mind, to be dealt with later. But such dark and powerful emotions could not go ignored forever... Leia was slowly succumbing to their influence, unaware of the danger they presented or the impact they were having on her. Amalia however did sense the change, but was powerless to do anything about it. It was not long before Naboo once again found itself under siege, when the peaceful planet became the victim of a carefully orchestrated TNO plot. (Dark Side of Democracy) http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=855&highlight=endgame TNO’s intention was to throw the New Republic off balance long enough to make a move on Coruscant. Backed by the mighty Imperial fleet, a considerably large army of Sith invaded the cities of Theed and Otah Gunga, fully intent on razing both cities. As the unprotected Gungan city of Otah Gunga was quickly destroyed, a large scale battle raged on between Jedi and Sith in the middle of Theed, thoroughly ravaging the city. It was during this battle that Leia discovered that her cousin and once close friend, Han Skywalker, had turned towards the Dark Side. Han hunted down Leia during the battle, and forced her to engage him in a lightsaber duel. When all other attempts to convince Han to disengage her failed, Leia was forced to kill Han in self defense. While the Sith/Imperial invasion of Naboo was eventually successfully repelled, TNO’s overall plan was successful, and the Imperials reoccupied Coruscant. In the bloody aftermath of the invasion, there was much healing to be done by all on Naboo. As the rest of the city began clearing the rubble from the streets and patching gaping holes in the once beautiful buildings, Leia’s attention turned towards herself. Han’s death haunted her, as did another disturbing development… Amalia had become estranged, and was flirting with the Dark Side as well. The more the image of the fatal blow she dealt to Han played through her mind, the more Leia came to realize that her decision to deal that blow to Han had been fueled partly by a darker part of herself that until that exact point in time, she had been trying to ignore. As she made this realization, Leia found that she was quickly able to begin placing together little events that had happened here and there where her temper had gone a little unchecked. Those dreams at night that scared her half to death and caused her to wake with a jolt, drenched in a cold sweat… Or when she had exploded at Amalia in the High Council room and caused her closest friend to flee from her. Now there was Han’s death by her hand under questionable motivation to add to the list. It all added up to something big, dark, and rather unsettling… Was she turning towards the dark path as well, despite her best intentions? Unwilling to let the problem grow any bigger, Leia planned a solo trip to Endor to sort out her lengthy list of problems. She’d let them go for too long, and now they were coming back to haunt her in a more powerful form. (Past Reflections Future Intentions) http://p089.ezboard.com/fthegungancouncilfrm55.showMessage?topicID=160.topic Leia leased a small transport ship for the trip, under the presumption that if she took her personal ship, her trip probably wouldn’t be so in cognito… But fate wouldn’t have it. As Leia made the final preparations for her departure, she met a strange man named Tyscio Korban in the spaceport. "My name is Tyscio Korban. Who are you?" He had said upon approaching her. Leia was accustomed to random people running up to her in public places, but none had ever approached quite like that before… Whatever intuition Tyscio was going on when he introduced himself, it must have been the right one. Intrigued by the man, Leia invited him to accompany her on her trip. And so soon Leia and a random man she had only met 5 minutes ago were en route to Endor to do some soul searching… On Endor Leia retraced her past, encountering waves of old memories with each step. Some of them were cheerful, others rather unpleasant… but Tyscio proved to be good company, and as they traveled on foot through the forests of Endor, a close bond of friendship began to form between the two. As Leia waged her own internal war of emotion, something seemed to trouble Tyscio’s thoughts as well... noticing that something was troubling Tyscio, Leia asked him what was wrong. On impulse Tyscio reached out to Leia, and through some sort of bond that Leia had never experienced before she saw images of a planet she had never seen or heard of before, that was being threatened by some wild force of evil of which she couldn’t even begin to imagine. Capricia. Leia promised Tyscio that she would travel with him to Capricia, to do what she could to help defend his home planet from the invaders that threatened it. She made the promise partly because of their friendship, and partly because she had pledged her life to the cause of defending the innocent. Despite all of her experience with the harsh realities of battle and war, Leia was in no way prepared for what awaited her on Capricia... (Conquest of Capricia) http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2676&highlight=capricia Part 5: Capricia Essentially, every limit that Leia had ever thought existed was violently smashed down and a new, much higher one set in place on Capricia. Leia found herself in command of a small band of soldiers from the planet of Providence. After getting a feel for the Yuzzhan Vong invaders in comparatively small clashes on Providence, Leia and her battle hardened soldiers traveled to Capricia, to prepare a defense there against the main Yuzzhan Vong assault on the system. During the battle for Capricia, Leia found new definitions of pain and suffering when she was taken as a prisoner of war and mercilessly tortured by the Yuzzhan Vong, who were fascinated with her “Jeedai Powers.” As the battle raged on, every time Leia thought she had reached her limit, she found she could press on just a little further. Yet even as Leia surprised herself with her own feats of strength, she found herself humbled by the Capricians and their few allies, whose grim determination and will to survive against all odds ultimately won the war. There are close to no everyday inhabitants of a planet that Leia could say she respected any more than a Caprician… Not all of Leia’s experience on Capricia was war and death. It was in between battles in a few rare tender moments that Leia realized she had developed a deep affection for a certain Tyscio Korban. Had she truly learned to love again, after what had… happened with Han? Yet despite the strength of her feelings for him, she mentioned them to no one. Part 6: Aftermath With the battle for Capricia won and the Yuzzhan Vong threat driven off, Leia finally found herself able to look forward to the trip home to Theed, and a nice restful vacation full of healing for her savagely wounded body. And to make things even better, Tyscio would be there... Of course since fate hates Leia for whatever unknown reasons, after returning to Theed, Leia’s battered body would barely have time to heal before trouble found her again… Current RPs: What you don't know can hurt you http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=701 Operation Large and in Charge http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4822 Beauty and the Beast http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5331 Believe it or not this character background is largely incomplete, and one day I just might get around to making it just a tad more complete. Maybe. Well, probably not.
