History
Irtar was a youth during the end of the Galactic Civil War and, while most of the galaxy was greatly affected by it, Irtar and his family wasn't. Though Dantooine was home to a Rebel Base and an old Jedi Temple, the Empire didn't put much force on the peaceful planet. Irtar grew up like most children on Dantooine, going to school and doing his chores.
At about the age of seven, Irtar was found unconcious every now and then. His parents were worried but due to how almost all the doctors were off serving the Imperical effort, his parents were forced to refer to an old medical droid they found. The read out said that Irtar had a mental disease that caused it but that there would be no long term effects. Unknown to Irtar or his parents, the droid had been reprogrammed by Imperials to read force sensitives as diseased and that if they wanted treatment, to send them to Coruscant. Thanks to the war, it was impossible.
The true reasons for pausing out was through the horrible things he saw through the force. He actually became so horrified that he repressed not only the things he saw, but his connection to the force. Thus why when Irtar got older, he stopped having 'phases'.
Irtar dealt with his 'disease' as best he could. He did well in school, especially in the various schools of engineer. Thanks to the trainning he had recieved at home to help around the farm, he already knew a good amount and school only helped refine his skills. It looked as if he was going to be asked to attend a special school for talented young engineers that was run by the Empire when the Battle of Coruscant happened which brought an end to that idea.
It was at this point, a lot of neat stuff was going on with Imperial rule wavering. People of the Rebellion, now known as the New Republic were exploring the old Jedi Ruins and some of the other stuff across Dantooine. Irtar then got to see a lot of interesting stuff that had been repressed for years.
Irtar then decided it better to stay home with his family and help around the farm like his forefathers. Irtar still used his skills with engineering though by setting up a series of patrol droids to keep the kinraths and kath hounds from getting too close to home.
It was at this point, the New Order retook Dantooine but still, things were not really different. The conquest of Dantooine wasn't as bloody as some of the past things that have happened on Dantooine. Other than increased taxes, not much changed with the Mal'Gro's.
One day, while sitting by himself under a tree near the house, Irtar suddenly felt like he should head out to the west border of the farm. He had this strong feeling like there was something there for him to do and he came across a badly wounded man. Irtar dragged the man back home to help them out.
After a couple of weeks, the man regained conciousness and his healing seemed to accelerate. Apparently, he was a Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order who was investigating some of the old force hotspots on Dantooine. Irtar asked the Jedi alot of questions about the force, and Jedi while he was there before his parent chased him away to let the man rest. When the Jedi was almost fully healed, the Jedi told him that he was force sensitive. Irtar was knocked off gaurd by what that presented.
After talking to Irtar's parents about what was going on, they decided that it would be alright if Irtar went to Naboo to train with the Jedi. The idea was exciting and Irtar decided to head off to train with them. After all, it could help him better help his family.
The Jedi still had more study to do on Dantooine so he told Irtar how to get to Naboo. The New Order blocked travel to Naboo thanks to how it was part of their enemies territory so it required a series of smaller jumps to avoid detection. Irtar followed the directions, using a series of different transport companies, to get to Naboo.
When Irtar arrived on Naboo, he was awed by the great structures and the sheer beauty of the city. The marks of the past wars were so subtle, he would have to have known of them to notice them. He eventually came across the Jedi Academy and headed into the courtyard. It was here he met Leia Organa-Solo, and she decided to let him in as an apprentice after he told his case.
Over the course of months, Irtar's training persisted until Leia vanished and all that Irtar was told was that 'she was off on business'. Irtar, not one to give up, began training himself with what little he knew until her return. The physical training was easy enough, but the Force and mental training was where his troubles lied. Although Irtar kept himself busy, by helping the Naboo and helping to greet new apprentices, it wasn't truly enough.
Until one day, while trying to learn some of the lightsaber skills on his own, the mysterious Jedi Knight, Vodo Bass came upon him. Impressed slightly by the Padawan's determination and challenged him to a sparring session.
