Name: Damalis Nuel Skywalker
Age: 24
Sex: Female
Race: Human

Physical Description And Personality:

Standing six foot even in her bare feet, Damalis is tall for a human female, and as such sometimes seems awkward in groups of her peers. Slender for her height, she borders on being too skinny but manages to evade it by having a healthy appetite to match her high metabolism. Damalis is rather hyper active and if it wasn't for her sweet personality she might be considered annoying by some, but it is this tender and loving nature that makes most people like her despite her outward appearance of being all looks, no substance and rather silly. With a face that most people end up staring at seeking the imperfections that aren't there, Damalis could have easily been a rather vain and vapid person but she neither relies on her good looks or uses them against people. In fact, she sometimes rather forgets the effect her appearance can have on people. With large gray eyes, thick long blonde hair and a slender physique she's a knock out even to the most jaded individual, although Damalis rarely lives up to what people expect of her because of her looks.

It is rather hard to hide the fact that Damalis is a very exuberant and happy personality. Nothing seems to make her sad for long and she has the ability to bounce back from tragedy without ignoring the significance of what happened. She's caring, perky, loving and involved with those people she calls friends. In fact, Damalis has the ability to adopt anyone at large and make them her friend when she senses this is what they need. She is rather like a beautiful puppy eager and willing to give someone affection and acceptance no matter who they are or what they have done. An optimistic soul, she sees all her friends as good people, needing quite a lot of convincing to believe the worst of them. When this happens, Damalis is devastated to find someone to be less than good. She herself is one of the good guys, through and through. Doing anything to hurt someone else would devastate her tender soul.

History:
Born on a sparsely populated planet in the Outer Rim, Damalis grew up rather isolated from the evils and changes that were going on in the galaxy at large. This was intentional, as her family were refugees seeking a new start. From what and where, Damalis has never been able to learn. The closest she has been able to discover is that her family has only carried the name Skywalker for about 3 generations. Her great grandfather, when he disappeared into hiding for unknown reasons, simply picked it because he'd heard it spoke before. He would give no other reason than that.

That she wasn't actually a Skywalker by blood, Damalis didn't learn until she was almost twenty. As a young woman, just barely eighteen, she hopped a freighter off her home world with no more thought than to see some space. She was just, as that time, going for a ride with friends seeking another party and would have laughed if you told her she wouldn't make it back to her home world for years. It came as rather a shock to a young woman her first time off planet to have people tell her that her family was known throughout the entire galaxy, and beyond. Still, Damalis was rather ambivalent about this new knowledge. She didn't feel it changed her in the least.

For the next year or so, Damalis just traveled around space, doing what she'd started out to do. Something of a party girl, she went from one big bash to another, rather innocent in her view of the world still as she closed her mind's eye to what ever evils she did see. If she has one major fault, it is that Damalis thinks every one is a good person when she first meets them and never once hesitates to make friends. For the most part, this has stood her well in her life, as she has rarely encountered truly nasty individuals and as such, still secretly harbors the idea that people aren't as bad as everyone says. That she's not been harmed could be just dumb luck, but there is truth to the idea that Damalis has more than one perception of the world the sees her through bad situations.

During this time, Damalis partied and made a lot of friends. She worked when she needed to but didn't hesitate to take charity or freebies if offered. This way she got free passage many a time from one planet to the next, dancing and having a good time as she went. It was now that Damalis laid the ground work for her later profession in the clothing business, developed her own colorful style and made a lot of contacts with people with the credits needed to live a party life style. Being gorgeous always got Damalis let into a party the first time, being herself got her asked back. In those months, Damalis had a few relationships, but none serious enough to tug her heart strings for her to say she has ever been in love. They began as friends and her sheer determination and sweet nature meant most of her partners ended the relationships as friends as well.

It was after one such love affair when she was nineteen that Damalis found herself on Tatooine and for the first time met an actual Skywalker. Before that, she thought it odd that she was from a family so famous, yet none of her actual relatives had ever mentioned it. It has confused her that people were always asking her about her last name, yet she knew no more about it than a lot of jumbled legends and stories people told her in her travels. From this one meeting, she found herself introduced to what seemed an enormous and far flung clan. At first, Damalis greatly enjoyed this rambunctious group but the more time she spent with them, the more she had bad feelings about her claim to being a relative.

Still, with no way to check up on her thoughts, Damalis went with the flow. She hung out with the Skywalker's and met even more relatives, partied some, and generally enjoyed herself. It was during this time that she was first introduced to the thoughts and ways of the Jedi. Of course she'd heard of them before, but never had people taken the time to try and explain exactly what they did and how. Damalis was certainly intrigued with the idea and began to wonder if, since everyone was so sure she was a Skywalker, that she had any of those Jedi powers that ran so heavily in that family.

So, she sought training. Being a Skywalker in name could get you a meeting, but having already been accepted into the clan guaranteed Damalis entry into a Jedi temple and training. She was introduced to Jedi Master Leia Organa Solo and was surprisingly enough accepted as a student. It seemed Damalis DID have latent force powers and with Leia's guidance, Damalis was able to, at least, tap those powers.

But she completely and utterly bombed at Jedi training.

It was extremely embarrassing for Damalis to say the least. She really did try but she never seemed able to focus and the meer thought of having to engage in a physical fight with someone left her feeling ill. Plus, to Damalis utter shame and horror, she couldn't get past one small detail of being a Jedi apprentice. It grated on her nerves and drained her daily, making the bright and perky blonde feel as if she was in a dark dank hole of utter sadness and despair that she physically began to deteriorate to a certain degree. This was partly because this one thing really did bother her and also because she couldn't get past the absolute silliness of the fact that this bothered her.

Damalis couldn't stand the thought of spending years stuck in apprentice robes.

Dull. Brown. Shapeless. Dull. Itchy. Damalis couldn't stand it.

A personality that craves bright and cheerful things, Damalis just found herself seeking deeper into depression at the thought of not being able to surround herself with the beautiful and intense colors she'd always had in her life. While the thought of being needed to fight someone and physically harm them bothered her so bad it made her shake and cry, being forced into the rather drab colorless existence a Jedi apprentice lived in until they reached their mastery was just too daunting. Especially since Damalis realized she'd probably be an apprentice for a long long time. She just couldn't seem to get things to work the way her Master wanted her to.

Moving things with your mind? Nope. Couldn't do that. She floated briefly then slowly slid sideways into things. Repeatedly. Every day. Over and over. And that was a simple Jedi ability. Meditation? Not happening. Damalis fell asleep. Always. And dozens of other things. To be fair, Master Leia was determined to find something Damalis was good at and she didn't wish to give up on her pupil, but Damalis always listened to her intuition. She wasn't meant to be a Jedi.

So she left the training. Dropped out. Skipped town, really. The fact that she wasn't actually related to the real Skywalker's seemed to be more evident to Damalis after that, but she didn't confirm this till a few years later, when she finally made it back to her home world. In the mean time, Damalis went back to her old way of living, with one small detail.

She started knowing things.

Later on Damalis realized that the small amount of Jedi training she received probably awaken a latent ability but when it first started happening, things were rather strange in Damalis' life for awhile. Suddenly finding yourself having accurate premonitions isn't easy to accept and it's still a skill Damalis is rather leery of. Still, her easy going personality made it something she could live with. In the next year or two, she had several ideas about clothing and began her first tentative forays into the textile fields by apply for some patents on a few synthetic fabric blends. They were accepted and surprisingly to Damalis, they took off. In a rather short time she found herself financially self sufficient.

By no means grossly rich, these patents allowed Damalis some freedom in her life to pick and choose where she wanted to go and what she wanted to do. Rather by accident, she ended up Coruscant where she began a few forays into making her own fabrics and clothing. She met up with some of her old party friends and had some meetings, which in the end, helped her expand her business. While there, however, Damalis had her first major event with her new found talent.

After a premonition about a tragic death, Damalis set out to stop it from happening. She managed that but also managed to get herself kidnapped along with a very small and violent woman named Chiisai Kyoufu, who turned out to be a former Hapan Queen. It was all rather surreal to Damalis. To begin with, Kyoufu is a strange personality and force of her own totally opposite of Damalis, and secondly, since she now had proof that the things she saw could be helpful, Damalis was testing the waters on what she could know and didn't know.

In the end, the botched kidnapping came out rather fine. While the captain of the crew that originally kidnapped them turned out to be one of the good guys and Damalis ended up secretly paying the ransom to the man to help him get back on his feet, Damalis learned a few things about what her powers did. She learned she couldn't control it, she couldn't make it tell her what she wanted to know and it would only randomly tell her things she needed to know. Also, she lost her light saber during the whole thing, something she'd hung on to without know why. Once they were turned loose, Damalis had given it to the ships captain and her kidnapper, Arawn Silvertongue. The worst part of the whole ordeal was dealing with the unpredictable and at times violent Kyoufu.

Still, Damalis came out of it knowing more about herself and with a rather odd friend in a smuggler named Silvertongue. For the next few years, Damalis worked on expanding her textile business and trying to decide what use her ability could be. Eventually she rather randomly found herself a member of the Rebel Alliance, with the hope that her power could help fight some evil in the universe. Out and about as she was now, Damalis couldn't miss the things that had happened and the horrible things going on in the galaxy that made a rather tender soul like herself ache. So she joined the group rather nervously but with high hopes that she would eventually turn out to be useful to them.

So far, despite a rather good start with a premonition about a door code, Damalis hasn't had much luck in that department. While she did give them an accurate door code that would have gained them access, Damalis wasn't able to tell them where the door was, since she found she didn't know that part. Despite this lackluster attempt to help, Damalis has been able to salve her pride by providing funds at random to the cause. Since she is probably the least likely suspect to ever be considered a rebel in any cause, Damalis doesn't fear being found out much.

While working on her business and hoping to be of use to the Rebel Alliance, Damalis went ahead and did something she'd been planning to do for a while. When the space station giant, the Astral Astoria appeared along the shipping lanes, the lovely blond followed her instincts and headed there to open up her own shop. Already, SkyGold Boutique is doing a rather good business and Damalis' future looks bright.
