Name: Wesley Vos Gender: Male Age: 32 Appearance: 6'2", 235 lbs., blue eyes, light brown hair, muscular but not too much so, scar on his right shoulder. Race: Human History: Born on Bakuru in 10 I.E., Wes Vos was raised in a time of tyranny, though he did not see it as such. His parents both held positions in the Imperial government on the planet, and Wes was enrolled in the military academies at an early age. When he was nine, he was disgusted at the Rebel victory at Yavin, sure that had he been present, the hated Luke Skywalker would have never gotten close enough to destroy the Death Star. His disgust grew with every Rebel victory until simply the thought of the Rebels angered him. When the news was received that the Emperor and Lord Vader had been killed and the second Death Star destroyed, Wes's rage was nearly uncontainable. When reports came to the Imperial academy several days later of the capitulation of his home planet, though, the effect was the opposite. He had raged at the Emperor's death; he wept at the funeral of his planet. He finished his remaining three years at the academy and graduated near the top of his class. He applied, and was summarily accepted, to the higher levels of military training in the special forces. When he finally graduated on the eve of the Thrawn era, Wes was certified in most types of fighters available to the Empire, including the rare TIE Defender, and took a position as a lieutenant in the Imperial Special Forces. He was involved in the Thrawn campaigns, though on a minor scale. His company was en route to Wayland when they received word that Thrawn was dead and the Wayland facility destroyed. The transport turned around and headed for Imperial space in order to regroup. With the defeat of Thrawn, Wes became disillusioned with the Empire proper. He saw it as a failing force and resigned his commission to enter civillian life. After several unsuccessful business attempts, the Rogue Empire, a rising galactic force, caught his eye, and he joined with the rank of Lieutenant. Wes served in several campaigns without distinction, as his roles were limited. Few actions called for the abilities of him or his men. However, during the Rogue Empire/New Alliance Wars, Wes's company was inserted as an advance force for a planetary takeover. His captain was killed soon after insertion, and Lieutenant Vos took command. He brought down the planet's defenses and, for the action, was awarded the rank of captain. During the Empire Strikes Back campaign, when the Empire was taking a beating and the Death Star destroyed, Wes Vos "acquired" the Assault Frigate Night Stalker (through somewhat dubious means) and fled with his company to the New Order, offering his services. Not willing to turn down an experienced unit, the New Order accepted the offer and allowed the unit to remain intact, though under a watchful eye. In subsequent years, the unit proved its worth and eventually gained the full trust of the New Order. The original company that had accompanied Wes from the Rogue Empire had disbanded, but Wes was not willing to give up his commission or go to a desk job. He suggested to his commander that he be allowed to form a new type of Special Forces unit based on the successful Wraith Squadron that Wedge Antilles had formed during the Zjinn era. The unit, consisting of four flights, would be equipped with TIE Defenders and would perform the role of a Special Forces unit and a fighter unit. They would be based on two ships, the Night Stalker and another of the New Order's choosing, and would be commanded by Wes. Wes was given the opportunity to form his company, as he preferred to call it. He personally reviewed thousands of files of Special Forces operatives and fighter pilots, searching for four teams that would fit the mold. Several of the new members of ISF, including most of the flight commanders, were from the original defecting unit. Even so, it took Wes half a standard year to come up with his forty eight, but the completed list was accepted. Another half-year in training, and Captain Vos reported his company ready for duty. Their first mission came somewhat unexpectedly. Watching a pirated holonet news network, Wes became suspicious when he saw what appeared to be a workman perform a crowd pleaser in order to calm a rioting Coruscant crowd. Receiving permission to investigate, he and his men apprehended a traitorous police officer who had met with some beings that he thought might be Coalition spies. Wes and his men immediately headed to the spies' projected destination, based on the officer's knowledge - the central police station for that sector of Coruscant. They caught sight of the infiltrators, but before the ISF could move in, one of the spies got the drop on Wes and forced him to withdraw. After a later investigation of the station, Wes discovered the agents were headed for one of three prisons in the area, ostensibly in an attempt to break out some prisoners. Green Squadron was assigned to the target picked by the Coalition, discovered the infiltration, and attempted to stop the agents. Several firefights ensued, with half of Green Squadron being eliminated in the process. The Coalition agents escaped. Gray Squadron gave pursuit, but the agents and escaped prisoners eluded them yet again. However, they managed to capture one prisoner, an Aqualesh. Instead of being permitted to question him, though, Imperial Intelligence whisked him away. Wes, enraged, tracked down the spies' next target and met them there. However, the spies once again eluded the ISF. Because of the lack of success, and because of the edge Wes had walked in attempting to bring them down, Bhindi Drayson and TNO High Command were not happy. Due to the complications of the ISF's first mission, Wes and his men were sent to the Unknown Regions, accompanying Kach Thorton in his explorations and conquests. Their first engagements were in the Lance Asteroid Belt, where they ran into a somewhat powerful pirate group. Wes's men chalked up a number of kills, and Wes himself received credit for half a Kaloth Battle Cruiser. Switching ships, Wes then led the first wave on the pirate's asteroid base, tripping the defense systems and clearing a hangar bay for the landing of TNO's main force. With the conclusion of that mission, Wes and his men returned to the main activity of the galaxy, hopping straight to Bandomeer and aided Commodore Thorton in his takeover of the planet by kidnapping the president's family. It was his first actual conflict with the Galactic Coalition. Immediately after that conflict, Wes took his men to Metropolis Prime, where they met with what would later become the backbone of the ISF fleet. Wes was given instructions to secure at least part of Bothan space as a buffer zone against the Coalition and, in general, to keep it out of Coalition hands. He did so with flair, using the new Mk. II TIE Phantom to take out the Bothan shield generator, then destroying the Bothan fleet above Bothuwai and taking the planet. Vaseli Zokalev, under Wes's command, secured the planet Krant, effectively cutting Bothan space in two. The Coalition managed to snatch Kothlis, but their plans for the Bothan sector were foiled. While securing the planet, Wes received a call to proceed immediatly to Metalorn, where he took command of a command ship in the battle, convincing the Coalition to withdraw and allow the Imperials to escape. Upon the resolution of this fight, Wes and his men are granted a month's leave, and Wes is promoted to Colonel. During that time the ISF was established as a permanent force and renamed the SS, and several new vehicles were designed for the SS. When the leave had ended, Wes and his men proceeded to Ansion, where they came into conflict with a number of Coalition men, members of the hated Section Eight. The conflict there ended with Wes killing a rogue Imperial officer and escaping the planet. Ansion's neutrality was respected, and it remained a strong part of the League of Nations. Wes, hearing reports of conflict on a planet near Confederation space called Valinor, sent Commander Racen Selere to investigate and stir up riots if possible in preparation for an invasion. The mission was going well until a Confederation fleet appeared. After a long ground battle in which the guerilla army under General Zhu and Selere acquitted itself well and the Imperial fleet came into conflict with the fleet of Commodore Lucerne, General Zhu agreed to move his forces to Echtabahn, a nearby planet. An SS base was established there, and the relationship between the two units - Zhu's Freedom Fighters and the SS - grew strong. After this conflict, Wes was ordered to take the planet Generis in the wake of the Onyxian Commonwealth's attack on Bilbringi. He devised an intricate plan that involved the SS fleet attacking in three elements and now-Admiral Thorton to come in with a small fleet in the rear. Their opponent was George Harrison, the commander at Bandomeer. Defeating him would be just that much sweeter. Now, Colonel Vos and his men are engaged in actions that will lead to the establishment of a permanent, self-sufficient SS base. Specializations: Piloting, infiltration, and leadership. Weapon of Choice: Slug-throwers. Prefers silenced, concealable weapons. Inventory: Two 9mm slug-throwers in shoulder holsters. Welcome to The Rebel Faction!

One question, are you new or is this a pre-existing member?
Author: Wes Vos. Posted At: 06/19/2006 at 02:54 AM
Two characters pre-existing, both died slow deaths. One (Silvan Armoth) never really got off the ground, and the other (Jaxon Bates) got stuck waiting for a reply in the Vinda Corporation's executive offices. So I'm trying again.

If TNO kills this one you should take a look at the BHG. And stuff.

I like. I'll have to pay attention to this one.

Thank you much. Actually, all things considered, I may be able to resurrect Bates. He'd fit the qualifications for the BHG, if you want to take a look at his profile. All I'd have to do would be to withdraw my offer from the Vinda Corp, which shouldn't be too hard.

In your bio, it looks like Wes was a part of the Rogue Empire which was NOT TNO or the Galactic Empire.

Rogue Empire/New Alliance wars refer to a war fought by two other factions who were enemies of "The Empire". The Rogue Empire became the Jutraalian Empire, a faction at odds most of the time with the Galactic Empire (TNO).

The Empire Strikes Back Campaign was a war between TNO and the Rogue (also called Jutraalian) Empire ..actually, more specifically, it was an operation to destroy a Death Star the Jutraalians were building.

The Campaign was a success.

The Jutraalian Empire fell to the Galactic Empire in the roleplay: Sins of the Fathers.
