General Kyle C. Bel Iblis

Born the son of the celebrated war hero Garm Bel Iblis, Kyle C. Bel Iblis never knew anonymity, nor did he know solitude. Everywhere he went and every person he met in his young life seemed drawn to him because of his family’s heritage. Born shortly after the formation of the First Galactic Empire, he grew up not knowing his famous parent. The co-founder of the Rebel Alliance by this time had gone into hiding and Kyle and his mother had to make do without him. From an early age he learned to despise the New Order Palpatine had instituted, and blamed them for the burning embarrassment he felt when some instructor would make note of his father’s accomplishments and upstanding character, when he had never known him. To make up for his relationship being severed Kyle studied everything he could about the Senator and military genius. Everything holonet mention of him and surfacing of him he horded, studying them intently and set about to mimic him. He would know Garm Bel Iblis by following him in career and actions completely. He would be exactly like his father.

If not being allowed to know his father was not torment enough, by the time Kyle was seven years old, the Emperor had had enough of his father’s bothersome counter-activities and put out a warrant for their arrest. They were to be executed for Garm’s insolence. Friends of the family realized was about to happen and secreted Kyle away. His mother hid with his father and was with him as he delivered a speech. For the security of his son, Garm and his wife had leaked false information that their son was with them, just in case the worst should happen. To the loss of the galaxy the worst did happen, and as Garm was drawn away from his wife by an interruption a bomb was detonated where he had just been, killing his wife. Garm went completely into hiding after this, severing contact with his son for safety sake. In one fell swoop the Empire had destroyed his family. All the pain that he had experienced to this point paled in comparison to what he felt now. That day the Empire had made a permanent threat to their holdings on Corellia. Kyle would not rest till the Empire had fallen.

Kyle had just joined with the Rebel Alliance as low level Naval Officer when the Battle of Hoth happened. He was there for the attack and helped evacuate the Alliance members and personal even as snowtroopers poured into Echo Base. Captured by the enemy and sent to the spice mines of Kessel he labored for months in sheer darkness before being rescued along with several other Rebel prisoners by none other than Wedge Antilles and Rogue Squadron. He quickly made friends with his fellow Corellian and served a brief tour of duty with Rogue Squadron.

At the Battle of Endor he was Commander on board a Nebulon B Frigate, boldly navigating his ship within the firing range of the SSD Executor, he risked his ship to provide suppressive fire to the forward bridge shields and forward firing batteries. This allowed a single A-Wing spiraling out of control to slam into the command deck, resulting in the behemoth ship’s destruction. For this he was catapulted to General and given command of his own MC-40a with a Mon Calamarian First Mate named Csquiral. It seemed he and the Rebel Alliance had finally achieved his dream.

After this he spent his private hours in a desperate search for his vanished father. It had been a long time since he had heard any news of his whereabouts or activities. Then Thrawn emerged and he was at Coruscant when Thrawn’s attack on it happened. He for a moment caught a glimpse of his father as he stood in the Alliance’s command center. His heart pounding his head swimming with joy he started to approach him. But circumstances intervened and he was ferried away from the room by duties. Afterwards he met up with his aged father. The reunion was brief but sweet. For Kyle C. Iblis, the war seemed to be truly over. He retired from the Rebel Navy and returned to Corellia to head up the development of security forces there. He settled down and started a family of his own. For a few years he was oblivious to galactic politics, but gradually he saw a resurgent empire grow in might. He became wary and started to stockpile weapons. He began special training regiments for his branch of the Corellian Security Forces in the event of Imperial occupation. People began to shun him and brand him as radical. A crazed warmonger. Till the day Corellia fell.

After the occupation of Corellia he and his CorSec “troops” started an underground resistance. At first they used the weapons he had stockpiled and launched small attacks on Imperial bases, but gradually realized they were too few in number and lacked the equipment necessary to make a substantial impact on the fate of Corellia and the other planets in its system. Eventually he and his troops had to flee Corellia, because of Imperial pressure. Removing to the still free planet of Sacorria he set up a make shift operation there that verged on disintegration… that is till he met an operative from the underground organization known as the Union.
