38 I.E. - The night before the The Battle of Corellia...

A Corellian's life was a perfect life, at least in the eyes of Aidan Elysarr. The 22 year old Corellian man had just arrived home after completing his first year at the Imperial Academy on Carida, and the only thing on his agenda was a well deserved family visit. It was near dusk, and the sun was just beginning to set over the horizon.

His family's average sized home was beachside, and his father owned several condos along the beach that he rented to tourists or inland Corellians. He walked up the steps to his home, dressed in casual Corellian attire. The door slid open, and he was welcomed with open arms. His sister and brother were the first to reach him, and despite his size compared to them, he was nearly knocked off his feet by the force of them both.

His sister wrapped her arms around his neck, and gave him a peck on the cheek. "I'm glad you're back."

He smiled and released her from his grasp. "Me too."

Next in line was his little brother of 7 years, who was jumping up and down trying to reach Aidan's neck and mimic his sister who was just over a decade older than he. Aidan bent down and picked him up, supporting him with one arm as he gazed up into his sibling's eyes.

"And how about you? Have you made up for my absence and annoyed everyone around you?"

His brother smiled and hid his face in Aidan's shoulder before embracing him, and Aidan ruffled his hair. He moved towards his parents, brother still in arm.

"Mom." He gave her a snug one-armed hug, patting her on the back as he moved away. "Dad." They exchanged a father-son embrace, and Aidan finally felt like he was home again.

Several hours later, after Aidan's sister had been sent to tuck in his brother, Aidan and his parents sat in the kitchen. Aidan and his father enjoyed a glass of Corellia's famous ale, while his mother sipped away at some caf.

"How's the academy, son? Are you learning anything from those Imperial scumbags?"

Aidan's mother kicked his father under the table, and he winced. Aidan chuckled, and took another drink of his ale. "It's okay, mom."

He turned to his father, who was rubbing his shin and still had a look of pain on his face. "It's actually going great, dad. I haven't really seen any action yet, but I'm really enjoying the combat simulators. You'd be amazed at some of the techniques and formations some of these guys use."

His father rolled his eyes. Aidan's dad had been around during the "New Order's" prime, and didn't fully agree with Aidan's attendance to the Academy. He understood Aidan's dream, however, of becoming a combat officer; even if it was in the Imperial Army.

Aidan's mother sat down her cup of caf, and stood. "I'm going to go and check the vacant condos, and make sure everything's okay. Some kids have been hanging around them lately, and I want to make sure everything's locked up."

Aidan stood and put his hand on his mother's arm. "It's alright, mom. I'll take care of it. You and dad should probably be getting some sleep anyways. It's late."

She smiled and rubbed Aidan's arm. "Okay, hun. Here are the keys. Don't be too long, I'm sure your sister will want to say goodnight."

Aidan jogged to make the trips a bit faster, and was on his way back home within the hour. The keys jingled at his side, and he squinted to make out the dim form of his home in the distance. It was rather dark outside, but he made it home safely.

He walked through the doorway, expecting everyone but his sister to be asleep. Crowded around the holonet, however, were his parents and sister, gazing at the display. "What's going on?"

His father was the only one to acknowledge him, and Aidan began to worry when he saw the grim look on his father's face. "It's the Imperials. They're attacking. Apparently a space battle just ended over the skies of Corellia, and the Imperials won..."

His father stopped, and took another look at the Holonet display. "The first transports have just landed..."

38 I.E. - One month following the invasion of Corellia

The initial fighting had ended, and Imperial control of Corellia had been achieved. Aidan still sat at home, feeling torn between his family and his obligations towards the Imperical Academy. It was another resless night, and he sat on the couch with a glass of Corellian ale in one hand. "How could this happen..."

His mother's hand moved across his shoulder, trying to comfort him. The Holonet was on, but muted. "I'm sure everything will be fine, Aidan. It could be worse."

His father came down the stairs, still retaining a look of grief. His eyes seemed to tell Aidan everything, and he could almost feel the sadness emmiting from his father. His gazed shifted, however, as a knock came from the door.

"Open up! Hey in there, open up!"

Aidan's father moved to the door, despite the familiarity of those voices. Aidan recognized them immediately, but was too slow to stop his father from opening the door. Imperial Stormtroopers.

Aidan stood, but made no action towards the door once the Stormies pushed themselves inside. There were only 3 of them, as far as Aidan could tell.

"This property and all belongings are now under the control of the Imperial Corellian Garrison. Your lodgings are needed to house Imperial troops."

Aidan's father strode towards the trooper in the lead, and raised his finger towards the armored soldier. "Listen here, pal. My family and I have lived here our entire lives, and I've never broken Imperial Law. You have no right to barge in here and tell me that we have to leave our home."

If Stormtrooper helmets could smile, Aidan felt it would have. The Stormtrooper made no immediate movements, but kept his gaze focussed on Aidan's father. "I think you're wrong, Corellian scum. We have the right to do as we please on this planet, as you and your family are about to find out."

With no further warning, the Stormtrooper raised his E-11 and fired three shots into Aidan's father.Too shocked to move, Aidan stood there as his father fell to the ground, dead. His mother screamed, and rushed towards her fallen husband. Several more shots rang out, and Aidan finally reacted. He grabbed his sister, flinging her to the ground behind the couch and using himself as a shield to cover her from stray blaster fire.

"Go get your brother and go out the back door... get somewhere safe, and I'll find you. GO!"

He rose and his sister took off up the stairs, and he gazed at his mother who was crouched over his father's body, weeping. The lead stormtrooper made a motion, and the two others rushed towards the stairs to make after Aidan's sister. Aidan ran towards them, and one turned towards him and fired twice. The first shot screamed past Aidan's head, but the second caught him in his left shoulder. He didn't scream, but instead dove towards his attacker. The stormie's E-11 fell to the floor, and Aidan landed on top of him. His partner stood above them, searching for an open shot that wouldn't endanger his fellow stormtrooper.

The stormtrooper punched Aidan in the face once, twice, and before the third Aidan rolled him over. The stormie struggled, and rolled Aidan, right on top of his E-11. Aidan grabbed it in mid-roll, and before the stormie realized he had it two shots were fired into his chest. Aidan grabbed the other stormie's ankle with his good arm and gave it a good tug, slinging him to the ground. This one managed to hang on to his E-11, but Aidan was too fast for him. He stood and fired three shots into the thorax armor, and the stormtrooper went limp.

"Put the blaster down, kid."

Aidan turned, training the E-11 on the remaining stormtrooper. His mother was still crouched over his father, and she said something to him that Aidan couldn't make out. "You're the one pinned against the wall. I have your right in my sights... how about you put your blaster down?"

The stormtrooper raised his E-11 to the head of Aidan's mother and placed it firmly against her forehead. "Wrong answer."

A single shot penetrated her skull, and Aidan's mother fell over the body of his dead father. The stormie shifted and turned to fire at Aidan, letting loose a stream of shots in his direction. Aidan dove to the ground, and trained his E-11 towards the stormie. He fired several quick shots as well, but they missed and the stormie rolled behind some furniture. Aidan fired again, shattering some decorations positioned on the table in front of the stormtrooper. One of the shots apparently hit his E-11, as the stormie tossed the smoking blaster aside and made a dive for the blaster of his fallen comrade. Aidan rose and ran in front of the frantic stormtrooper, kicking the blaster aside. He sent a kick into the stormie's head that he had to have felt through the armor, and went sprawling over onto his back. Aidan dove on him, and ripped his helmet from his head. Dazed, the stormie looked at Aidan with a confused look.

Aidan placed the E-11 under his chin, and looked into the stormie's eyes. His eyes widened as he felt the steel of the blaster, and faded as a bolt of energy shot through his chin and exited the top of his head. Aidan threw the E-11 to the side, and crawled towards his fallen parents. It was then he first realized they were truly dead; his parents were not coming back.

He touched both of their faces, and closed his eyes to hold back tears. His sadness quickly shifted to anger, however, and he slowly rose. Still gazing down at his dead parents, he remembered his brother and sister. He knew the Imperials would find a cover story for what had happened here tonight, but he would not allow them to kill his brother and sister and humiliate them as well. He started towards the door, but stopped dead. There were at least six more stormies running towards his home. The lead stormtrooper must have got a message out in the ruckus.

Aidan turned and bolted out the back door, and began a frantic search for his sister and brother.

Sometime later, Aidan found himself in town, still searching for his lost siblings. His shoulder pained him almost to the point where he could not stand it, but he refused to give up on the only family he had left. Gazing in every direction, he was beginning to lose hope, when he felt something. It was almost as if he could feel fear, or smell it in the air. He stopped, confused as to what he was feeling. He turned, and caught a glimpse of white in a nearby alleyway.

A lone stormtrooper stood between Aidan and his brother and sister. Not stopping to formulate a plan, Aidan simply began sneaking towards the stormtrooper. He ducked behind a large trash receptacle, peeking out around the side. Just as Aidan was about to react, another man leapt from behind the stormtrooper, tackling him to the ground. He tossed Aidan's sister something, and she ran off with his brother. Aidan almost stood to give chase, but thought better of it in case this stormtrooper got the better of the brave man. He didn't however, and soon had total control of the situation. With the own stormtrooper's blaster trained on him, Aidan watched in anticipation for the man to end his life.

Aidan almost screamed when he didn't, but ran away instead. He was completely shocked, and in utter hatred rose from his hiding spot and charged the weaponless stormtrooper. Tackling him to the ground, Aidan ripped of his helmet off and pinned his head to the ferrocrete.

"It looks like I'll have to finish what he started..." Raising the stormtrooper's head up, he brought his mouth close to his ear. "You deserve no better than death." Aidan slammed the stormtrooper's exposed head into the ground with all of his strength, splitting the man's skull. He rose as a small puddle of blood formed around the man's head, and looked in the direction his sister, brother, and stranger and ran off.

He would find them. He would find his remaining family and this man, and when he did, he would tell them. His sister and brother would go into hiding, and he was going to end the Empire's rule of Corellia. Corellia would be free once more.
