Name: Mira Tyrel Gender: Female Age: 18 Appearance: Short and well-toned. Physically both strong and attractive. Dark hair, blue eyes. No distinguishing features. Generally wears a jump-suit made of rancor hide dyed black. Race: Human History: Eight years after the fall of the Emperor, war had come to Dathomir. The Nightsisters, servants of the Dark Side, had allied themselves with Imperial forces under Warlord Zjinn in an attempt to destroy their rivals, the witches of Dathomir that still served the light. The arrival of the heroes of the New Republic - Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker - drastically changed the dynamics of the situation in favor of the rightful owners and rulers of Dathomir, the witches. In a bloody, brutal battle, the Nightsisters were broken, most of them killed, and the Imperials forced to surrender. Zjinn himself was killed. At the conclusion of the battle, Han Solo deeded the planet to the witches, who were left free to rule as they saw fit. From the battle also rose Tenenial Djo, who became queen of Hapes and birthed the Force-sensitive Tenel Ka. As there always are, though, casualties were left on Dathomir - both dead and living. One such casualty was a young girl named Mynenial. Only two years old at the time of the great battle, and extremely sensitive to the Force, she felt every blow and every death. Unable to shield herself from such feelings, having not yet been trained, all she could do was cry. The memories were seared into her, however, and by the time she was five she was already beginning to be no more than a shell of herself. That was when Jedi Master Luke Skywalker found her. On a visit back to Dathomir in his search for Force-sensitive individuals for his new academy, Luke tested Mynenial and found her Force abilities to be extraordinary even for a Dathomirian witch. Receiving permission from the child's parents, and thinking he could bring her back from her withdrawn state, Skywalker transported her to Yavin IV and the new Jedi academy. Her training began slowly, with several of Luke's students - such as Kyp Durron and Streen - taking it upon themselves to teach her the basics of using the Force. In the process of her training, Mynenial began to open up and deal with her childhood memories. By the time Mynenial was twelve, she was well-advanced in her basic training and moved into the next phase. Apprenticed to Corran Horn, who had just graduated his apprentice Raltharan to Knighthood, Mynenial began to receive training in the more advanced Force skills. When she was fourteen, Corran tasked her with the building of her first lightsaber. Determined to earn her right to do so, she returned to Dathomir with nothing more than a vibrosword. Alone, she hunted a wild rancor and, using her wits and the Force, killed it and skinned it, making her own Jedi robes out of the skin. Following the rancor's tracks to its cave, she found two rusted metal tubes, each about thirty-seven centimeters long. Examining them more closely, she discovered that they were lightsabers, presumably from the Jedi ship that had crashed on the planet centuries before. How they had survived she had no idea. The hilts were useless, as was most of the wiring, but the crystals were in perfect condition. Mynenial returned to the Jedi Academy and, using the tools there, delicately extracted both crystals - one an emerald-green color, the other a Hurrikan violet. Using both, Mynenial constructed a dual-phase lightsaber similar to her Master's, but green rather than silver. When Corran Horn left the order soon afterwards, Mynenial continued her training under several other Masters for several more years. In 5 NIE, however, angered by the Jedi's inaction in the many wars that plagued the galaxy, she left the Jedi order, taking only her personal robes and her lightsaber. The Jedi, preoccupied with their own problems, barely noticed her departure. Returning to Dathomir, Mynenial changed her name to Mira Tyrel to disassociate herself from her past. She also began to study everything she could find about the Nightsisters. Eventually she became convinced that what was called the "Dark Side" wasn't really so dark after all, and soon afterwards she embraced the Dark Side fully. Leaving Dathomir once more in 6 NIE, Mira began her search for Masters of the Dark Side to begin anew her training in the Force. Relying only on the Force to guide her, she came to Coruscant, where she was discovered by Darth Necros. Realizing the potential in Mira, he invited her to the Sith Temple on Xa Fel to unlearn the ways of the Jedi and learn the ways of the Sith. She declined to answer immediately, but Kraken made clear that his offer stood. There was only one problem - she would have to find the planet on her own. Her next stop was the library world of Obra Skai. Her searches proved fruitless, however, and she was beginning to despair. Then she came across a reference to the planet in an obscure document that had been missed for centuries. With a clue now in hand, she revived her search. Allowing the Force to guide her, she traveled next to Korriban, the ancient Sith world. Entering the ruined Sith Academy, she managed to clear debris from one of the computer terminals. To her surprise, the terminal still worked. She managed to gain access to certain library information that provided the location of another Sith temple, one that apparently held great significance for the Sith. Fighting her way back through the Academy, Mira returned to her ship and plotted a hyperspace jump to the coordinates she had downloaded. When she exited hyperspace, though, all she saw was space. Realizing that time had probably shifted things a bit, she ran a scan of all nearby gravity signatures. Plotting another jump to the closest one, this time she came out directly above the Sith planet. The first thing she heard was a welcoming voice over the comm. It was Necros, congratulating her and welcoming her to the Sith Temple. The very next day she ventured out with the other apprentices to train under Necros. It was there that she met Ithron, who she had known briefly at the Jedi Temple. They did not recognize each other, but they came to respect each other. Later, Mira played a minor role in the Sith takeover of the planet Rodia before returning to Xa Fel to again work on her training. She engaged Ithron in a duel, nearly defeating him. However, he gave himself completely to the Dark Side and would have struck her down if she had not fled. It was this that caused her to begin questioning the wisdom of complete surrender to the Dark Side. Still pondering that question, Mira was sent to Telos, where she met Ben Firestar, a Jedi Padawan. They discussed the nature of the Force at length before Ben invited Mira back to the Jedi. The two apprentices fought, Mira drawing on her own pain to increase her strength and defeat Ben. She left him for dead and returned to Xa Fel, no nearer to the answers to her questions than before. A week later, Master Vance Jas sent Ithron and her on a mission to Korriban to recover a Sith artifact. They stopped at Coruscant. Mira wandered the planet while Ithron visited with Diktator Lupercus. While there, Mira discovered that Ben had escaped Telos and was hunting her, and Ithron surrendered his will and loyalty to Lupercus, vowing to kill Mira once they reached Korriban. The two fled Coruscant, the Jedi hot on their heels, and headed for Carida. While there, Mira edited a conversation between herself and Ithron, making him all the more the traitor, and sent the recording to Masters Jas and Descartes. She was working her own betrayal. From there, they continued to Korriban.
