Sha'tek Grazuul
General Information

Name: Sha'tek Grazuul of the Deep Fang Caste
Species: Shusugaunti
Homeworld: Shusugaunt
Age: Unknown. Definitely in his prime.
Height: 6’9”
Weight: 400 lbs.
Scales: A deep teal
Eyes: Yellow
Family: His Brothers of the Deep Fang Caste
Special Skills: The one that kills you.
Languages: Basic and Shusugaunti
Marital Status: …What?
Children: More than likely.
Equipment: Carefully crafted body armor, designed to shrug off the impact of weapons and even shrug off some laser impacts as well depending on the strength. Also, he has a Ssliath, a weapon of the Shusugaunti. It is a mighty, dual bladed weapon, that if you twist the hand-grips in a certain way, that the one tip will separate and reveal an energy blaster. ((a la Stargate, except bladed not a blunt weapon))

Appearance:

((The Shusugaunti look like the Naga from WarCraft 3.))

He appears as most Shusugaunti appear, with several fins along their bodies with sharp barbs. The males have very predatory features, matching most of their mentalities. Their bodies are covered in thick scales that can absorb hits in a physical contest quite well. The armor that Sha’tek normally drapes himself in is custom made partial plate, that is designed to protect him as well as blending with his scales to make him seem even larger and more dominating.

If he deems it necessary, normally at formal occasions he will drape himself in the skulls he has taken from worthy foes. So far it’s not many, but he plans to have this collection grow. Unless the galaxy have no foes worth the effort that is.

History:

He is one of the Shusugaunti. A fierce and brutal race from the aquatic world of Shusugaunt. They’re a reptilian race, with humanoid torsos but instead of legs they’ve a serpent’s tail. Their society is developed into several factions, known as castes. You’ve got the philosophers, the shamans, and the various warriors castes. The Deep Fang Caste are one of the most brutal of all, obsessed with making themselves the greatest warriors that have ever been known. They’re more often then not at war with the other castes just to forge themselves in the flame. Though some think to compare themselves to the warriors in the galaxy beyond.

Sha’tek Grazuul is one of these.

Sha’tek was raised from a hatchling for battle. There was never a period of coddling unlike with some of the other castes. Most don’t make it past the infant stage in the Deep Fang Caste. Trials of the body and mind were constant and as soon as they could hold a weapon, their weapon training began. Death was definitely always watching over these children, as their masters had no reserve weeding out the weak and foolish from their pack. The flaunts by the Grand Masters that any child of the Deep Fang Caste could beat most other Shusugaunti may well have been true.

His youth was filled with battling his peers, obsessed with proving himself their better. The only time he was finally sated in his bloodlusts were when those around him backed down and admitted they were his lesser. This continued until one day, the master training him noticed a growing arrogance as many of Sha’tek’s peers had backed away from challenging him. The master challenged Sha’tek who eagerly accepted the challeng. The master quickly threw him down. With blade to the throat of his subdued pupil, the master pressed it until a slight trickle of blood came from. “Arrogance is as great a weakness as a broken blade. It is not to fight, it is to win.” Were the words he said, and with that let his pupil go.

Shortly after gaining his right as full warrior of the Deep Fang Caste, he began to grow tired of it all. There were no challenges on Shusugaunt that hadn’t been surpassed before. No hurdle that hundreds before him hadn’t already jumped. He found there was no way to become a legend or be remembered as the legendary Deep Fangs of times long past. There was nothing on Shusugaunt.

And so, he chose to reach for the stars.

Looking for battle worthy of his skill, Sha’tek makes his way into the vast galaxy of war.

Can someone explain something to me?

Why is it that we get all haughty about Jedi/Sith/Force ranks but not about the obvious use of such phrases as "Grand Master" and so forth?

I'm not harping on this character; it's just that the question only occurs to me now, in reading this. We have literally dozens of characters who manage to start as the elite masters of their whatever though careful not to become teh uber jediz. Why is this? If a character cannot start as a Jedi Master then does it not stand to reason that a character should not start as a Fleet Admiral, or Grand Master Gand Findsman, or uber teh 1337 smugglerz?

Just a thought.

And welcome to The Rebel Faction; use at your own risk.

The answer, in simple terms, is The Force; that is the difference...

Nobody gives a shit about Force users anymore anyway, so why beat a dead horse? If he wants to be a Grand Master, let him be a Grand Master. He'll get blown to shit by a star destroyer same as an apprentice.

It was just an observation...

What have I said about you observing, Beff?

He's not a Grand Master of anything.

Just a standard warrior.

It's just their society has leaders ranked as 'Grand Master'. No Force Users. Because they're lame. Just look at me! :D
