DESCRIPTION

Dakos takes after his parents. His father was a pirate from the Outer Rim; his complexion was a deep red tan. Probably due to the arid planets, he frequented during his life. However, his mother was pallid. So the child conceived with a mixture of both, appearing mocha in complexion and pretty in tone. Dakos has his father’s strong eyes attaining a stern veneer while capturing tranquil elegance of his mother through his smile even though the expression is nonexistent. He shaved his eyebrows in an intricate design, still maintaining the body of the eyebrow hair, but with slight jagged, serrated edges dissipating from an epicenter. He dons this look, because the eyebrows are reminiscent of an image he saw of his father.

Dakos is the typical assassin, so his outfits usually reflect something that blends with the crowd. His body physique is lean, but slightly defined with muscle. Dakos does not have a clear face, during a struggle on Anoat, when he was on a mission for Raca’sin, mercenaries paid by the murdered victim attacked him. One of the mercenaries had a knife: the first jab went into his shoulder, tearing some of his muscle fibers, but the arm healed and since then Dakos acquired mobility in that arm. He suffered a deep scar on the left side his face but his brooding has brought a rough, harsh visage. He has a light mustache above his lips, but very faint.

He stands around 5’10” and his posture remains straight and dignified. He wears scruffy long-sleeved camouflage green shirts stuffed inside dark blue-black pants, and the thin black boots have the blue-black pants stuffed inside. He comes across as a smuggler, with his utility belt clad around his waist with the holster and lightsaber clipped—prepared for a fight. He wears a white-bright blue mixed tight thin jacket. The jacket has extra cartridges and small accessories for his blaster pistol. Dakos has two tattoos, one on his arm in the design of Raca’sin’s emblem, and the other being the Praga on his back with the color jade, lined in black.

He always wears skintight black gloves, possibly due to a childhood obsessive-compulsive habit—not letting his hands become victim to the outside limits. Dakos has a very small scar on his nose from when Modo Bertrin, his adopted father on Firrerre, threw something at him when he was younger. His eyes are a bright green; they complimented the color of his hair with the green highlights. The impact of the hit caused his nose to change in appearance slightly. Evidently, the scar looks more like a birthmark line rather than a grotesque skin feature. His hair is brown with a hint of dark green, from some highlights a Rhodian woman placed in his hair when he first came to Nom Kelvise.

To appear covert as if on a mission, his outfits usually reflect something that blends with the crowd. He wears slightly below waist trimmed black shirts. These black shirts have deep red embroidery that meshes with the shirt. Dakos wears long black pants, and black shoes. His expression remains reserved if not stoic. He has a bipolar complex, going from antisocial into an aggressive and dominant presence. He is precise in his manner and technique. Dakos scrutinizes his moves as if each movement were dependent on his accuracy. He wears a zeyd-like cloak when he wears black.

AFFILIATION

Character Affiliation: Rogue, but tends to favor dark side arts.
Affiliation Rank: Freelance, it's complicated.
Weaponry: Blaster pistol, silver lightsaber, and several kittak stars
Character's Lightsaber Form: Makashi
Personal Effects: YT-2000 Khade, and private utility belt (small holo-headset, blaster pistol w/holster connected, pouch for kittak stars, breathing mask, Makashi silver-bladed lightsaber, charcoal-colored cloak, black gloves)
Character's Master/Mentor: Master Hoseih Keshiryr (Ho-zay-ah Kah-sheer) taught Dakos the ways of the Dark Side. Keshiryr hails from Zhar, and has extensive knowledge in dark side arts with the force. Manipulating others and objects were his specialty when he was younger, but training seems to drive the old man’s daily life. He has worked for various headhunters, crime lords, and organizations bosses doing various killings and missions; the pay was nice for a few decades. He taught Dakos in the ways of the hunh’diye (huh-dye) and vetru nein’sye (vay-true Knee-psy), old arts from a small contingent of dark side knights.

The art required excellent skill in the handle of a lightsaber blade, and flexibility from the traditional tera kasi fighting skills. The use of the art made him more versatile as a freelance fighter than those strictly affiliated with the dark side of the force. After he could handle the traditional lightsaber blade, Shii-Cho, Keshiryr introduced him to the Makashi. The Makashi fell well with the angry boy, and his antisocial qualms ebb with the force, which intensified the fighting experience. After killing his fighting mentor, Raca’sin, he came back for Keshiryr only as a precaution.

BACKGROUND

Personality: Dakos is a corrupt young man. He harbors hatred from years of oppression and abuse. Dakos has an unstable nature, and his last name was created from that frustration. Taking on a new name—Torcin, which stands for ‘one filled with regret and conflict’ shaped his well-being. He finds distrust in every person he encounters, which always leads him into skirmishes. Dakos garners complexity, because he acquires finesse with his fighting. His goal is always the first on his list: a practice he perfected during his teens.

As he grew older, Dakos found his life dwindle from happy prospects due to no stable family or support. Depending upon his own autonomy since before legalized Imperial adulthood, he would jump Outer Rim planets repeatedly reinventing himself. Over the course of this phase of constant reinvention, part of him melded to this chaos of furcated personalities. The furcating mental struggles he has makes him more dimensional; he passes intermittently from solid craziness to ordered sanity. He truly needed structure in his life, which he never received.

Dakos tries to suppress his true feelings, but those struggles create barriers. He exposes his personal problems through his fighting, and the victims end up receiving the brunt of his frustration. When he handles any killings or missions with the objective of killing others, Dakos makes his approach with methodical accuracy. He practices his fighting arts as a direct reflection of discipline; the discipline makes his style of goal completion easier for the objectives set. Raca’sin increased the difficulty of his objectives by understanding the boy’s process. Dakos has some slight limitations during onslaughts, ambushes, or major attacks—he becomes overly confident and vindictive.

Dakos understands that he cannot destroy powerful institutions, but he makes an impression upon any organization that obstructs his goals. The Hutts, some Black Sun, and other major underworld factions place him under serious scrutiny. He is loose, when situations are tight, and dire consequences fall with the victims rather than him. A voracious survivalist, he will do what is necessary and evade death. Dying does not scare him, but he treats death as if it is a game. He gambles on the enterprise that he will live and fate treats him better than others.

He has the title of ‘The Jade Praga’ because of his spider-like way killing victims. Killings are a science perfected over time, and after killing so many people, Dakos finds the occupation stimulating if the objectives require a design that is more intricate. Along with his challenging occupation, he has a sharp, yet clever wit. Dakos acquired sarcasm when he was younger as a way to downplay bad behavior or actions that befallen him. He uses wit as a rhythm or tempo in the scheme of his work and analytical judgment. His eyesight, attention to detail, and agility under pressure make him a very powerful assassin. Equally, he loathes irrational behavior brought upon by passion; he has seen many times in the past decade from working in the Outer Rim, that passion kills—nothing is profitable from a meaningless death.

History: Dakos Torcin was born to Jete Horilles, a well-known space pirate from the band of thieves, known as The Shuk-kyites, who frequented Belsavis and Nar Shaddaa. Like any band of pirates, they took control of many convoys. The Imperials took extra lengths with COMPNOR to find out who would undermine their control over the spice runs. These pirates had connections with many smugglers on those routes, but they were an elusive bunch. However, their luck ran out when the Empire caught Jete and his significant other, Miodia Naydres, during salt emission run near Firrerre. During the trial for their crimes, Miodia gave birth to Dakos. The guards separated Dakos from his parents, and the garrison general, Modo Bertrin, received custody. Dakos' parents died during a surprise attack on Firrerre.

The boy stayed in the custody of the garrison general, who ended up becoming the governor general of Firrerre. Dakos learned discipline and organization while under their care. After some altercations with the remnant forces of the rouge Neimoidians, Modo went into psychological hysteria: he began abusing his own family moving between his wife and adopted son. Dakos suffered the abuse for a long time, but when he found out, he raged in anger—they were not his true parents, the boy lashed out in response. He took Modo’s blaster and hid it in his room until both his parents were asleep. Later that evening, he murdered them in their sleep.

Since that first murder, Dakos became incensed with the need to kill people. Killing became a sport that bordered on his need for psychotic balance and severe depression. He found refuge on the nearby planet of Alzoc III in Nom Kelvise (No-mm Kel-v-say), which catered to dangerous criminals and vagabonds. He honed his skills of killing and the cutthroat life. The life he was leading was a quality that had apparently been in his blood for a long time. Dakos learned how to survive, and after some time on his own, he met the Twi’lek crime boss, Raca’sin (Rock-a-zin), a close friend of Jabba the Hutt and former employer of Bib Fortuna. He taught Dakos skills in fighting while he stayed on Alzoc III.

Through the subliminal training, Dakos became Raca’sin’s new human assassin, since most assassins had been alien species in that part of the galaxy. Dakos infiltrated various facilities to kill officers or important specialists and retrieved sensitive information for many different criminal organizations. Over time, Dakos’ job performance increased his worth to handle missions, but no one knew he was conducting these covert missions: only Raca’sin and he knew the details behind these secret, high profile jobs. Raca’sin’s investments grew, and he became a powerful subject in the Outer Rim; he found out Dakos had force ability and sent him to the planet Zhar to receive training from a close friend, rogue dark side master Hoseih Keshiryr (Ho-zay-ah Kah-sheer).

He studied under the rogue master for roughly twelve years, even while Dakos continued his job as an assassin. Dakos learned the hunh’diye and vetru nein’sye fighting forms. Keshiryr moved the boy into intense dark side training, and he realized that lightsaber ability was rather limited with the traditional blade. He gave Dakos a newer blade, a Makashi with a silver-ignited blade: the saber had an etched onyx handle and smooth jade button enamel. Finding his training useful but limiting, Dakos took action again but this time against Keshiryr. During a practice duel, he overpowered the master applying his assassin tactics during the fight. Narrowly, Keshiryr survived the struggle, but later died from complications to wounds he suffered at the hands of his padawan. Satisfied with his training, Dakos believed he could learn more on his own. He took on the title of Master, after Keshiryr, even though he still needed more training.

Dakos left Zhar and headed for Alzoc III to confront Raca’sin. The crime lord had now considered his assassin a prime asset. Dakos wasted no time killing Raca’sin for monopolizing his talents and capitalizing on all of his bounties and killings in the wild part of the galaxy. By killing Raca’sin, Dakos was free. He took affiliation on his own and was ready to embark on a journey that would lead him to understand his past while trying to survive in a galaxy that still wondered who he was. After all, with every kill that he made, he left a sign, a mark of mystery and confusion. He completed his name dubbing himself Dakos Torcin, which no one knew, but others who had seen the product of his work only recognized the killings by one name—the Jade Praga—one of the most ruthless assassins in the uncharted parts of space.

At the age of twenty-five, systems feared his presence and lives shrouded in hysteria understanding that a solid killer remained free from obstruction. The Empire spent much of their time handling the war with the Rebellion Alliance, and Dakos caught whiff of the threats, and kept away from the struggle. Now this ominous individual waits patiently in an undisclosed location. Being freelance has so many advantages.

Relations: He had biological parents that were pirate/smuggler affiliation (Jete Horeilles and Miodia Naydres); lived with curmudgeonly foster parents of Imperial Firrerre Security (Modo and Titheia Bertrin), a fighting mentor/intergalactic crime lord (Raca’sin), and his special force skills mentor (Master Hoseih Keshiryr).

Notes: No equivalent title fits Dakos as a force user, but contests that he is a master because he killed Keshiryr. While he personally affirms such a skill in the force, he still has much to learn about the dark side of the force. He stopped his teaching, and Keshiryr did not properly train him. While he can effectively use a lightsaber, his fighting skill coupled with his agility lead to him think he is unstoppable—yet Dakos has delusions of attaining more power, but his quest remains limited because his knowledge of the force limits him.
