Appearance:
Ilmus is a military to the bone and can not be confused with someone different. If you see him in public he is usually very well dressed and styled. He is neat in every part of his appearance due to long years in the military always keeps himself with his hair short and his face clean shaven.
In combat you wont see him, for he is usually hidden behind the helmet of his combat suit.
Personality:
Colonel Stevenson holds himself to the highest moral and ethical standards. While he is a warrior through and through, he acknowledges that a warrior must also have compassion to do what is morally right. He holds his team first and would do anything to keep them alive.
Ilmus is also very intelligent and cunning when it comes to all things. He could have taken a higher rank while being in the New Republic Special Forces, but did not because of his love with being close to the man under his command and the thrill he gets from being on operations.
History:
Ilmus grew up on Adumar in a military family. While his father never pushed him into joining the armed forces, he had wanted to join all his life. He quickly advanced through all the academy courses, but had a knack for wild outbursts when provocked, almost getting kicked out after beating a fellow cadet almost to death. His Adumari pride was getting in the way and only his father's words could put a stop to that kind of behavior.
After a long talk with his father Ilmus realized that the army was not a one man operation. There was no room for pride and he could not do everything by himself. He had to learn to trust people and have them trust him as well. It was not right to simply impose his will on them.
Like a revelation, Ilmus changed completely from that day. He formed into a kind and decent person who could garner respect from many at the academy. He finally graduated at the top of his class in both grades and also marksmanship. After turning down an offer to join sniper school, Ilmus join the New Republic Marine Force.
With conflicts on the rise, Ilmus was transfered over to special operations command and he took part in an increasing number of operations until finally reaching the rank of Major at 30 and Colonel at 33. His career came to an end when his squad was sent to help rescue a platoon of grunts that had been said to be pinned down enemy territory. That operation had been compromised and his team entered a well laid trap. The grunts had been long dead. On extraction they suffered heavy casualties, but still managed to drag themselves to an LZ, while pulling fallen team members on their shoulders.
Back at base after the mission, with 40% of his team dead or dieing, Ilmus found out that his commanding officer had known about the enemy forces in that location and also about the killed platoon, but had failed to inform him because they wanted to assess the strength of the enemy. Not able to take this betrayal of loyalty lightly, Colonel Stevenson had slugged the man in face.
This action earned him a discharge, however, new work quickly found him in the form of Stellar Enterprises. The new company was hiring people for security missions and Stevenson fit the bill perfectly. He was given groups of men and women train, but was also allowed the go on operations should they occur. After over a year of working for the company Ilmus happier than he had ever been in the military. Things were much simpler now.
