Bio - As she is a Sith Apprentice, I thought I would do this as a sort of thesis-cum-lecture piece at the end. As this character is yet to be accepted, I thought it would be an idea to do an "examination" piece.

A Quote

"The Jedi perception of the Force is incorrect. Do they not believe that sensitivity is but an accident of the blood? An imbalance in the midi-chloriean genus? It is preposterous, my Master. The Force is an energy field created by all living things; it surrounds us, penetrates us and Binds the Universe together. Certainly, it is not akin to…catching the hyper immune deficiency virus. Such is their rabid appetite for control that they seek to classify and compartmentalise the very fabric of the Universe. In their arrogance they claim to understand the very Nature of All Life from The Beginning, for is not the Force the Alpha and Omega? They would make themselves God, my Master. We must stop them, lest their obscene fantasies become a reality."

A written outlook

The precepts of Sith doctrine are the antithesis to the corrupt and immoral teachings of the Rebel-led Jedi Council.

The Jedi Council believes in the suppression of human emotion – wrongly deeming this a path to mastery of the Force. It is unsurprising that the Jedi are led and sponsored by alien-kind; naturally, these abominations seek not to allow the human to grow to her full potential.

The Sith embrace their emotion and thus their humanity. To deny the existence of anger, to deny the existence of hate is dissolute – it is a slight against the Self. How can mastery of the Force be attained if the initiate begins her training denying the Truth of her very soul? Love, lust, fury, melancholy, abhorrence – all these things are part of a human’s anima, and to ignore the duality in emotion is utterly misunderstand the very fabric of the Force itself. This is why the Rebel Jedi are weak, and the Sith are strong.

The Jedi Council believes in destiny, but a destiny not of their own choosing. Again, this has its roots in their alien-sponsored teachings. The aliens do not want humankind to believe it can control its own destiny, for their ultimate aim of sedition, control and final annihilation requires that humanity descend further into the mire weakened indolence.

The Sith forges her destiny by her own hand. The concept – often spoken of by the Jedi, but clearly misunderstood, is that of choice. The Sith can choose her own destiny, and be confident in the knowledge that she must live of die by consequences of her actions. The Jedi, in their morally reprehensible way, invoke the clause of “it was my destiny,” thus denying any responsibility for their action or inaction in a given situation. They lack the courage of their convictions, and use the Force as a crutch and salve for their own weakness.

Inextricably linked to the Sith’s Destiny is her Will. The Sith subscribes to the Law of the Will. What is misconstrued is that Will is very different to “want.” To the Sith, Will is the theorem from which she manifests her Destiny, and it is no easy undertaking. To define her True Will, a Sith will study long and hard, and visit those parts of her anima that the pusillanimous Republicans are incapable of coming to terms with.

As such, Sith’s reject the Republican theory of “Light” and “Dark,” though they understand that such classification arises from the Jedi Council’s own insecurity. For the Rebel Jedi, knowing the Force is a daily struggle with the duality of her nature. The Sith faces no such ambiguity, for she is an adherent of the Law of Will, and thus is aligned with her Purpose and Density.

In fact, the Rebels own doctrine shows the utter lack of understanding these “Guardians of Peace and Justice” have of the Force. “The Dark Side is quicker, easier and more seductive,” is a mantra that the Jedi often preach. In doing so, they only serve give credence to the Sith Path. The Force is more accessible to those that do not deny the Truth of themselves –as such, it is quicker and easier for a Sith to learn than for a Jedi who cannot accept their emotional make up.

Seduction is a term implicit of guilt – the Sith knows her Power, and can wield it – a Jedi sinks in the mire of guilty restraint. They are at conflict, for on the one hand they seek to gain increasing knowledge of the Force, and yet preach that Power – and its use – are Dark. For the so called Dark Sider – there is no conflict.

Indeed, the very terminology “The Force” is implicit in that is something to be wielded by those powerful enough to do so. Thus, the Force is neither Dark nor Light – it simply Is. To claim that the Force guides the User is akin to claiming that the gun decided where to shoot. However, it is simple to see who this neat psychological charade gives the Jedi a sense of self-worth. Lacking the intellect or the moral fibre to face up to her choices, the Jedi claims that “the Force led me to this action,” and therefore absolves herself of any responsibility for the ill she brings about.

Unlike the Jedi, the Sith recognizes the organic nature of the Force and indeed the Universe itself. Republican doctrine preaches that once one has started down the “dark” path, it will dominate the Users destiny. Plainly, this indicates their lack of understanding of the Force, their own insecurity and – perhaps – their own darkness.

An Sith realizes that – as she is in control of it – Destiny is not set. Therefore, if an Sith encounters a Jedi, she will seek to save him, providing he is of acceptable genetic makeup – that is to say – human. History is littered with such encounters. The supposed “Dark Ones” always seek to turn the Jedi from their blind path of self destruction and embrace their humanity. Conversely, the Jedi seek only to kill the “Dark Ones” (which leads to further questions about their debatable morals).

However, if the Jedi refuses to be turned, then it is expedient to destroy him; to let him survive is tantamount to endorsing the anti-human doctrine they support, and thus a sedition against the race itself.

An In-Character skit from the classroom...

“There is no Dark Side of the Force.

”This dichotomy was created by the alien-led Jedi Council to subjugate and eventually destroy the human race. That they allow humans to sit alongside them is proof of their culpability, for they present the outward front of tolerance, yet have sought nothing but to rot the fabric of the Empire.

”Their doctrine is false, and those humans that walk the path of the “Light” side, so called, have their development stunted, their views corrupted till they too are tainted with the blight of hatred that all alien-kind hold for us.
”To suppress emotion is inhuman. Not to express love is evil; yet it is we who are branded “Dark” for we accept our humanity – whereas those of the Jedi Council would have us reject it.

“The Dark side is quicker, easier and more seductive.” Quicker – perhaps, for it is natural for us to feel. Easier – certainly, for it is natural to embrace our emotions. Seductive – such terminology is implicit of sexuality, which the aliens have their Jedi suppress. Why – because reproduction is necessary to perpetuate humanity. Thus, it is looked upon as a sin…and is thus forbidden to those of the “Light” side. They would have us become extinct.”

My slate-coloured eyes swept the room; there is no shuffling of feet, nor lack of attention. What I will one day teach here will save lives, and all know it. An exercise this maybe - but it is an important one. For the Sith must be able to pass on her wisdom.

“Let us examine the precepts of “Jedi” doctrine and their basis in actual fact,” I continued.

“A Jedi,” I said, beginning to pace, “Uses the Force for defence and never for attack. Refer to your holo-screens, File 107. This is footage from the much-vaunted duel between the Great Lord Vader and his bastard offspring, Skywalker. Clearly, Skywalker is the first to ignite blade. Clearly, Skywalker strikes the first blow – in direct contradiction to what these so-called Jedi preach. However, his skills were no match for a Master such as Vader. Out-classed, Skywalker is defeated.

"Here you will see Vader offer him clemency, even after such a furious battle.
“”Join me,” he begs Skywalker. “And together we can end this destructive conflict, and bring order to the Galaxy.” Surely the words of a man of peace, desperate not to engage in war, nor filicide. “If you only knew the Power of the Dark Side.” This statement is so that Skywalker could understand – Vader uses Republican terminology, knowing full well that his scion has been corrupted by the alien Yoda, and the traitor Obi-Wan (even though, he had formerly acknowledged the old master had taught his son well – such was Vader’s magnanimity). The Power of the Dark Side, then is that of Emotion, as we have discussed earlier. It is Human to feel, my Masters. Never forget this.”

“Now,” I turn to the large monitor that dominates the room. “Here we see the depths of Emotion. “You can destroy the Emperor, he has foreseen this.” Vader offers his son the chance to end the reign of Palpatine – who was pro-aggression, and end the war. Unarguably, a traitorous act – yet, this is the act of man who sought peace above all. A man who sought an end to war, and elevate his undeniably gifted son a chance to shape the Destiny of the Galaxy. Yet, this great man has been cast by slanderous propaganda as the root of all evil. This man who brought freedom to millions, who made the Galaxy a place of peace, under the auspices of Emperor Palpatine.

”The Emperor himself,” I move on, “was a man of great contractions. At once genius, yet fallible as all Humans are. Ultimately, he was betrayed by Vader, who, in his last act, prevented the death of his own son at Palpatine’s hands – even though the son himself had done his utmost to engage in fratricide. It must be noted that Skywalker’s skills had grown much after his first confrontation with his father; if Vader had not stayed his hand at Bespin, the Galaxy would be a different place. A better place.

“Skywalker himself…this Champion of Good, this…” I shook my head, emotion getting the better of me momentarily. “This man is responsible for the deaths of 1180309 people in a single act of violence. Refer to File 097. The battle above the first Death Star…”

I watched the battle rage above the Death Star, a lump forming in my throat as the brave heroes of the Empire faced their first defeat. Then, a scene I have seen many times, the X-Wing, Lord Vader at its tail. For the thousandth time, I will him to fire, to destroy Skywalker, and save the lives of the servicemen and women aboard the Death Star. Yet, as always he does not, and I am forced again to see the light of their souls exterminated.

“Yes,” I said, my voice thick with tears. “Watch and learn. Force Sensitives have reported that his then deceased Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, urged Skywalker into this horrific act. “Use the Force, Luke. Let go Luke,” are from the stir of echoes. We know that Skywalker turned off his error prone targeting computer and used the Force to guide his missile to the Thermal Exhaust port of the Death Star, thus extinguishing those lives. This,” I said, “a good act? The act of a Jedi? Or the act of terrorist murderer, with only death, destruction and mayhem on his mind. Yet they have the temerity to call us “Dark.” It is an absurdity – but then, the winners of Wars write their own history.”

An observer raised his hand to question me “Apprentice Denaris,” he said. “Is it not true that the Death Star was used to destroy Alderaan, an inhabited planet. Could Skywalker’s act be seen as one of revenge?”

“A good point,” I straighten my robe. “And I am glad you have brought it up. We must be aware at all times that the Empire as it was was not a perfect institution – no institution is. However, consider this. Grand Moff Tarkin was the Commander. Even Vader was subject to his orders. We know now, that Tarkin was insane. A drunkard and a maniac, whose elevation to power tipped him over the edge. Alderaan was destroyed on his express orders. No one else was responsible – Palpatine himself was furious at the action, but had no time to remove Tarkin before the Rebels struck their fatal blow.

”It should be noted, there was no formal protest from the Alliance at the time. No attempt to understand the situation. They simply acted from hatred and aggression – those values they claim we preach, yet are the vilest perpetrators thereof. Had contact been made with the True Government, Tarkin would have been brought to justice for his crimes…but we were never given the chance. The Death Star was created as a deterrent, never to be used in anger. A vessel that would have ensured a lasting Galactic Peace.

“There is true Evil in the Galaxy, my Masters. But it is not to be found in the Empire. It is the soul of the New Republic, the disease of the Jedi Order that spreads like a cancer. They are eager for power, and they use it aggressively. Be thankful that you were born in what remains of our once great state. Be proud that the Force is with you, so that you, above all others, can protect our Citizens from this malignant terror, spawned of evil creatures with vile intent. Make no mistake. This is a war of extermination. We fight, not for power, but for over very existence as human beings. They are coming, with full fury, against us. We must fight them, lest the remainder of the Galaxy fall under their alien-sponsored heel of aggression.”

Very well composed. I have but one observation to present. You have postulated that this is a character in-tune with the Force and a student of no small importance or power. Might I suggest you scale this down some? Granted; the Jedi and Sith are a major propornant to TRF and everyone should have the freedom to explore their own character progression. That stated, it should be noted that we highly regulate our Force using populace to avoid any sort of, as Jon Stewart would say, catastrafucks.

While I hate to impose restrictions on character manifestation or inspiration I would suggest that you may want to examine a less... pivotal... character type as your entrant into TRF. This would ease your transition to our style of communion, however; as it stands, I will lodge no formal objections as, given your writing style, you seem to be at least passingly skilled in the process. This does not mean I have no fears of God-Moding or abuse of the Force, but I hope those concerns are unfounded.

Good luck.

Hi - thanks for your observations. I'm certainly not suggesting that this character is anything but a student. I should have made it more clear that this piece was designed as a sort of "exam." I applied here - http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9916 - and I imagined that the above was literally part of the characters "thesis" and a presentation to her masters.

These are Kayla's theories - she's by no means a master. She's an apprentice, but I think it's important for the character to have thought about the Force (certainly, I did before I wrote this *lol*).

Your fears of god-modding are unfounded I hope; I've been Rping online since the mid-nineties when the internet was all shiny and new for most of us, so I'm fairly au fait with the do's and don'ts (well, I hope I am!). I also write freelance here in the UK, and I'm used to adapting to different copy styles - this being the case I'm hoping that I can get into your style of communion fairly quickly.

Thanks for not raising any formal objections - I'm sure I don't want to make any waves about being a super-ninja-attack-force-sith-master. Not my intent; in all honesty I think super-ninja's are no fun at all. Much better to be fallible in my book.

Cheers

My trepidation is inspired of experience.

Eloquent, I like.

Danke.

thanks ever so much - as I say, I should have made the point of the piece clearer at the beginning! Cheers, looking forward to getting stuck in, subject to acceptance by the New Order.

...ah another talented writer for the Empire...

*laments*

Good luck on your acceptance, you are in good (read: Evil) company within the halls of the New Order.

I look forward to reading your roleplays.

The Sith work with the New Order, but we are far from being under their immediate rule. We have yet to gain our own Sith forum/s, is all.

Also, while I admit I like this... thesis, I have to say I do honestly prefer third-person/past tense.

Any chance of you following suit, like most of the RPers here?

You're free to write in your own way, of course, but I felt it had to be asked.

No, it didn't. Your poor feelings!

When I came to TRF I started in the first person. That was how I wrote. I was crushed by people asking the same 'innocent' question over and over again. Now, who else writes in the first person?

To Kayla, I say the following; Cheers and don't surrender!

Well, for an RPing environment, first can be very confusing for other players. I don't personally care, really, just as long as TSO can enjoy this player's writing talent.

Beff... back to the bedroom. Bitch.

Hi both - just to clear things up, I adopted this style for the biog, but I'm clear on the rules that say say you prefer third-person. So for the RPs proper, thats what I'll be doing.

Cheers
