RC-1166 was born in the year 32 BBY. Before he was ever born he was predetermined to be the leader of a Clone Commando unit. Their training began under Walon Vau. After several years of brutal training, which turned him grim, violent, short-tempered, and sadistic, the time for their training to be put to the "true test" had come. RC-1166 also had a deep, gritty voice. It was speculated that during training RC-1166 had spent too much time with RC-1207, Sev, and this was the reason for his personality.

At the Battle of Geonosis, RC-1166 and his squad helped in the decapitating of several Geonosian officers, which lead to the ultimate defeat of these forces. After this, they were put back into stasis until they were needed. Just a few weeks later they were revived, and until near the end of the war they would participate in no less than twenty missions. On the what would be their last missions, RC-1166 and Kot Squad were assigned a Jedi Master and Padawan and sent out to retrieve a captured scientist.

The mission went horribly awry, the scientist and the Jedi Padwan dying in an ambush. After struggling to reach a safe haven, the squad received Order 66. The squad refused to fire on their commander, and helped her escape. They were mercilessly persued by other Clone Commando squads and slowly picked apart. Eventually all but RC-1166 would be killed. After several more months of running and hiding, the attempts on his life stopped. Van always identifies himself by his designation, he only lets people he wants to let know what his adopted name is, that is, Van Pax. It is unknown as to how he aquired this name.

Van became a bounty hunter, taking on whatever bounty he could get his hands on. Van decided to return to Kamino to find a way to stop the clone degeneration that would inevitably kill him. Upon finding out there was a way to stop it, he took almost a year to find the needed data. Van then received the treatment at the Kaminoan cloning facilities. Now Van could live a more normal lifespan.

Just as a note: Look at our timeline and see how far ahead we are. 42 years since the end of the Clone Wars. Assuming your character was in his twenties like most of the Clones, you'll be what? 60 someodd?

Just something to keep in mind.

Yes, I took this into consideration. In the book Bloodlines there is an ARC trooper who did almost the very same thing.

Don't clones age twice as fast?

So that would make you like 120 years old?

Clone Commando
This was the name given to those specially-trained clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic who were trained to act as infiltration agents, during the early stages of the Clone Wars. Officially known as Republic Commandos, these troopers trained separately from both the rank-and-file clone trooper and the ARC trooper, and always were trained in squads of four. Commandos wore specially-upgraded Katarn armor, with was painted a dull gray for better camouflage. Like other clones produced for the GAR, clone commandos were humans who had feeling and needs, but their military training bred most of these feelings out. Unlike other clones, however, commandos developed deep relationships with the other members of the four-man teams. The loss of one or more members of the team often left the survivors with feelings of pain and anguish, which the commandos kept to themselves. Like clone troopers, clone commandos were produced with enhanced development, allowing them to mature in half the time required by a baseline human. Because of their enhanced development, however, clone commandos had about half the normal lifespan of a human. Of course, that assumed that they survived combat. Records obtained during the war provided several startling statistics, among them the fact that a few thousand clone commandos accounted for the destruction of billions of battle droids, both on the battlefield and as part of covert sabotage operations at droid factories. Ultimately, it was believed that some 10,000 clone commandos were produced for the GAR. However, more than half of that number were killed during the early stages of the Clone Wars, when the commandos were assigned to inexperienced generals who failed to take full advantage of their training. Over time, many commandos began to overstep their mandates, allowing civilian casualties in order to achieve their goals, despite the mandate of the Jedi Order to minimize such casualties. Many of these clones were returned to Kamino for remedial training.
