Kallan comes from a long corellian line of smugglers and layabouts, and aims to rid the Hurn name of that by his service in the Onyxian Commonwealth Marine Corps. He attended Onyx A&M university and was a member of the Corps of Cadets there, where he gained his officer's commision in the CMC prior to graduation. He climbed the ranks fairly quickly, earning himself a bronze cluster of valor for digging in and defending against a company-sized force (250) of enemy with his platoon. He was promoted to Major and given command of the Mad Dog Battallion, and shortly therefter deployed. He has been pirate hunting since, and has succeeded in winning three minor "brushfire wars", more like skirmishes or single battles.
He is currently deployed to Fornax.
Kallan has few possesions and no real home, except for that of his wife, Jaina Hurn. They met at Onyx A&M and Kallan proposed to her in his junior year, directly after taking a military contract to pay for his college.
Kallan is very heavily muscled, but not to a bodybuilder's extent. He runs and lifts weights as his marine schedule requires, which is quite a bit. Kallan is also considered one of the top marines in the CMC in close quarters combat, actually, one of the top soldiers in close quarters combat in the Onyxian Commonwealth, balancing close-in fighting with knives, pistols, or blows. He is also a expert-qualified marksman, well above average but still below elite sniper-qualified.
As a leader, Kallan knows how to get 120% from the troops under his command, and can naturally inspire men to take action. He knows what to say, wether it be a joke, threat or order, and is rarely caught off his social guard.
