Do' and Don't on CT's
TRF allows users to set their own custom titles. This is a privilege that can be revoked at any time. It was given to the members because we the staff believe our member-base is mature and responsible enough not to abuse it too badly.
Changing your custom title at will can be a fun, and oftentimes hilariously funny action. Joking around and having fun is accepted, but there are a few rules for your custom title.
- Keep your language clean. When you change your title it appears changed in every thread you have posted in. Harsh language is fine to an extent, so long as your fellow members have the option of skipping it. Language in your CT doesn't give them this option, and is thus illegal.
- Don't pretend to be someone you're not. Don't put 'Jedi Master' in your title, as if you were a Master. Jedi ranks are a hard to get commodity on TRF, often requiring months of work (just ask Dolash). If you are found to be spoofing as a Jedi, your ability to change your title will be revoked immediately. Harsher action may be taken.
- Keep it short. Don't runyourwordstogether, making your title very long. The letter limit is somewhere in the 90's, so theoretically you could make a pretty long title. However, this will only make you look stupid, as only your posts will be distorted.
- If you want a line break in your title, feel free to post in our support forum asking for it. Extensive HTML will not be given unless you have done something that really deserves it (like getting Lucasfilm to hire us to write episodes VII - IX).
