But what rank am I? Why can’t I start as a Master?

There is a standard ranking system (Apprentice, Knight, Master) and a Force Council.

All promotions go through the Force Council, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Every character starts off at the default level of Apprentice (or Faction equivilant). When you feel your character is ready to be promoted, approach either the Force Council, ask your OOC mentor or Faction Leader to do so on your behalf and they will promote you based on your work in your roleplays. It is their duty to ensure that this decision is fair and unbiased.

How you develop your character is entirely your choice. Some common methods are asking another person to act as your master and roleplaying together or joining a Faction and following their rules.

Self training, by using an NPC master is allowed, but we advise those that are new to see this as a last resort only, and to seek out the other options first.

So whether your character advances, is purely down to you. The Force Council will look at your IC activities and base their ruling on these activities. Of course, if you do not roleplay, then you do not stand to advance very far.

So it is down to you, the roleplayer, to earn the respect of your peers.
